So now we enter the fourth quarter of the NFL season. Time for the big shots to step up and secure a playoff spot for their teams. The races are tight in both conferences, which will make for some good pro football.

I'll be interested to see how Buffalo manages in Denver, the battle in the bay (Cali style) may be intriguing, and Carolina in the Superdome may be a good one.

I don't have much on the Steelers. At this point, they need to hope for more teams to lose than for them to win.

Even though I'm living on the outskirts of Broncoville, I think that Packers-Patriots is a good bet for the Stupor Bowl.

And I'm enjoying watching Sanchez succeed in Philly. IMO his play supports the theory that new QB's should not be thrown into the starting lineup, but should spend a couple of years on the bench learning the game.

Brady was frustrated at the end of the game. Pissed off. He'll bring that to practice, and motivate the entire team. I'm thinking they'll win out.

I hope the BS call on the (non) helmet to helmet hit last night leads to a rule change. Penalties should be reviewable.

Still happy my Pats went on to beat the Bolts AND the zebras. I think they'll win out, but it won't be as easy as it looks on paper - all 3 remaining opponents are division rivals.

Maybe some review limited to personal fouls would be OK. They review fouls in the NBA and college basketball, but those games are typically 3 and 2 hours in length, respectively.

There are way too many penalties. The games have no flow or continuity anymore.

Every year, I like college games more and the NFL less. I haven't watched a Thursday game this year and don't plan to again.

As a general rule, like tonight, I turn off the TV sound and listen to the packer radio network Homers. Tonight, when I turn up the TV on replays, it's almost embarrassing what a Rodgers /Packers lovefest it is.

Missed it, but sounds like it got fairly interesting at the end. I'm kind of rooting for a 5 or 6 win team (or whatever the lowest is it can actually work out to be) to get into the payoffs -- hopefully the league will then be forced to address the home field policy for the first round in future years.
