It looks like this weeks Steeler game will be a match-up of teams that were supposed to be much better. Going to Carolina will be tough, but hopefully Delhomme won't play. Jake and Steve Smith could have a field day against the kids in our backfield.
In the "Woulda, coulda, shoulda Bowl", the Steelers win.

What's sad is I think your right in that the Bengals will win. The only difference is I think it will be more like 34-20.
It doesn't look like Dungy is ready to accept that there needs to be some changes on the defense and until he does they will continue on a downward spiral. My Colts are going to be first round losers again.

Kelly, I do not the Bengals. You guys need to kick their butts. I'll totally be rooting for the Colts this weekend!!

If Weinke plays, I think the Steelers have a very good chance of pulling this one off. The dude is like 1-15 as a starter or something like that. Even if he doesn't start, Delhomme hasn't exactly been a world-beater this year.
The team certainly hasn't traveled very well this year, though, and Willie Parker seems like a different back on the road. I'm also very worried about Steve Smith...he's a monster. The Steelers will need to generate a decent pass rush so that the secondary doesn't get picked on too much, which might be a tall order considering how bad the rush has been all year.
I'm still optimistic about this one, though.

I agree. I was encouraged by the five catches for 67 yards today with Weinke in there though.
Let's hope for that again, and plenty of Keisel, Porter, Smith, and Hampton in the backfield.

What did you think of Anthony Smith in the Browns game, Mike? I thought he had a good outing, despite allowing the late touchdown. I think it's entirely possible that he could be the replacement for Hope that the team has been struggling to find.
Of course, it was the Browns, so I'm trying to tone down my enthusiasm. In any case, I'm encouraged.
Well, I never threw my Terrible Towel at the TV.
Seriously, I think there is potential in Smith, McFadden, and Madison. All three of them will get lit up a time or three until they get some games under their belt. I just hope they all stick together and learn from guys like DeShea and Troy.
I too am encouraged, no matter who we played in that game. It will feel good to finish strong.

Did you see how many dropped balls there were? That was pathetic... I'm not saying Weinke is good, but the rest of the offense certainly didn't help him... the Panthers are on the way down, you guys should have a good chance at them.

The 'Big Games' as I have listed in my schedule (I make my own grid in excel with key matchups. I may even post it next year if you're lucky. It includes key games, division games, games against teams that stand a chance of making the playoffs [obviously only useful after half the season], and it's all colour coded

San Fran @ Seattle. I take the Craphawks in this one unfortunately.

NY Jets @ Minnesota. Two teams on the bubble. I take the Jets.
Philly @ NY Giants. Oh man. Same record, same division. Huge. I'm taking the Giants.
KC @ SD. I take the Chargers. They won't take their foot off the accelerator until they've clinched #1 spot (which shouldn't be too hard).
Cinci @ Indi. Oh. My. Hagod. This is, in my opinion, going to be the game that defines how the AFC is going to finish up. I take the streaking Bengals over the craptacular Colts 'defense', if you can call it that.
Bengals finish with 3 tough games, Colts/Broncos/Steelers, and I think if they can win this game, they are pretty well assuring themselves of at least 6th spot. I don't think they have a chance of catching the Ravens (2 games back, and the Ravens get the Browns/Steelers/Bills), but they should be able to pull this off with some good all around effort.
Now as for the Jets... they have had one of the easiest schedules (if not the easiest? I dunno) the whole year, and they've squandered their opportunities and fallen to a mediocre 7-6. Yes, they lead the 7-6 teams, and have the 7th spot in the AFC, but the Jags and Bengals are no pushovers, and the Jets have been way too crappy this year to even deserve making the playoffs. If they somehow happen to, they aren't going anywhere. Fact.
And as always, the NFC sucks. Good for the New Orlee-ans Say-ints (PS, Does John Madden seem like he's decaying towards horrifying amounts of senility at a very rapid pace?) for taking it to those poopy cowboys

You're kidding right? As bad as your 49ers are, they at least aren't as bad as the Detroit Lions. Could a franchise be any worse?

Hilarious... you'll appreciate this from Invalid Link Removed blog, which is highly recommended reading for Monday morning:
'The Packers/49ers game is underway, and there’s a guy here that’s not only a big 49ers fan, but a big fan of calling attention to himself. He’s been coming here for a few years… not every week or anything, but when he’s here, he makes sure you know about it. Anyway, Frank Gore breaks through the line, and takes off towards the endzone. The guy jumps up and starts yelling at the top of the lungs (and again, the bar is very quiet today), “YES, FRANK GORE. YES, FRANK GORE. YES, FRANK GORE.” He’s marching around the room, and actually leaves the room to take his celebration out into the front… all before Frank Gore gets pushed out at the 1-yard line. Oops.

Why there are fans that are still passionate about the 49ers or the Packers, I’m not sure.'
