NFL Week #17

Happy to see my Niners remove the interim tag in front of "Coach Singletary".

A great week to end the season IMO. The Niners have another comeback win.

And as for the Cowboys?

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

+1 on Singletary. He has elements of Cowher in his game. I really, really respect him. And he's a Fightin' Baylor Bear!;)

As for the Cowboys part........um, yep. When a team you've loved literally your entire life sucks so bad you laugh at the TV, that's about as bad as it gets.:(

Gard is a Steelers fan, I can vouch for that.

Yup, I actually used to own a Terrible Towel back in the 70's. :)

...and my #1 team has proven beyond any doubt that it is imperative to have a solid defense, no matter how good (as in the best in the NFL by a wide margin) your offense is, you don't win if you let the other team score. Hopefully, since the offense in New Orleans is set for the forseeable future, they will pay some serious attention the the disaster of a defense they have...sigh...

Yeah, I definitely dig Singletary and I'm cautiously optimistic about next season. The cautious part comes from the fact that the Niners ended 2006 on a high note (knocking the Broncos out of the playoff picture) and were a trendy darkhorse pick in the NFC the next year. Rumor has it Martz is on his way out and if that's the case, I really wonder how the offense will be next season and what they'll do in the draft to shore up some obvious weak spots (S, RT, NT, pass rushing OLB). We'll see.

As for the Cowboys, Romo just seems to shrink when the lights get hot (when games count) and the locker room seems fractured. Too many individuals, not enough "team". With Jerry Jones, I'm guessing somebody's head is going to roll, though I don't know if it will be Wade Phillips or former heir apparent Jason Garrett whose offense was being criticized by his own guys at the end.

Here I am at Lambeau on Sunday with my bro and in front of a guy we know's Packer van. Fun times.

Welcome to 9ers during Nolan's years! I have to admit, i laughed a lot during this time... Hell, i laughed my @$$ off this year, when i spent close to $300 to go see them play the eagles (my buddies is eagles fan and it was his birthday) and Nolan challenged a field goal... Yeah, it was nice too see them blow a game while seating on east side 35yard line row 9... Dressed in 9er gear...

East Side in candle stick is visiting side for this who don't know... There was me, 2 more 9er fans and rest were eagles fans...

Welcome to our world cowboys fans. Hopefully our past world :)

GO 9ERS!!!!

Now close your eyes for just a moment and imagine the Saints offense and the Steelers defense as one team.

WOW!!

-Mike

I've had those exact thoughts (haven't I Ray? :D )...what a monstrosity THAT would be...they'd probably run the table for sure, but in the opposite way from the Lions...man...

So, do we name this dream team the New Orleans Steelers or the Pittsburgh Saints? We're already pretty much "there" with team colors...

I don't think it's about loyalty.

From an ESPN.com article I just read....

"Last weekend, Cowher met with Browns owner Randy Lerner, who asked him what it would take financially for him to be the Browns' head coach. Having a close relationship with the Rooney family in Pittsburgh and still wanting more time with family, Cowher didn't give Lerner a price, and said no."

Here is a link to the article it came from: Source: Cowher, Jets still to talk.

It was reported lsat night that Cowher said no. It pretty much focused on him saying he wants another year off, however. I'd love to see him back... hate to see it with another division team OR the Cowpoops, however.
