NFL Week 20

The only way you could possibly think the Bears weren't discussed enough this year is if you didn't have TV, radio, internet, access to periodicals, or the ability to have a newpaper delivered to your cave in northern Illinois in a little town starting with C, ending in O, and have hicag in the
middle

We'll come out of our caves long enough to beat the crap out of Indy, and bring the newspaper so you can wipe your you know what with. mmmkay

The fact that Hester, a punt returner and occasional CB, was even in the same sentence with "Rookie of the Year" goes to show how much the Bears were talked about.

Maybe that has somthing to do with an NFL record being broken! Not only that, but those returns for points really did alot in helping his team get to the point that they are now!:hyper:

Nobody is saying that they weren't discussed, it's just that alot of fans got tired of the dissn'. That's all it is! We get to rub it in the noses of the nay sayers. Kinda like an "I told you so".

It's all in clean fun and good humor.

This is a football thread, not a "nobody thinks my team is any good" pout. If you'd like I could start a thread with that title and the Cards fans and you guys can have it out.

We'll go away as soon as you start a I hate the Bears thread! :D Hey pal, sour grapes are just that!

Hey man, just smile. After all, it's only football! Remember, bass playing is the most important thing in life!:bassist: :D :bassist: :D ;) ;) ;)

if Brady's recievers had'nt got last minute lobster claws for hands it had been a much diffrent outcome.
but dem's the breaks.
Very true. I wholeheartedly hope your boys bring it home. It's not even that they beat the Past last night--I've never liked the Colts at all. In fact, even before this season, they were on my "Disliked teams" list along with the Cowboys. Something about Peyton Manning, his a-holeness, and wannabe-actor-ness rubs me the wrong way.
At least they play good football. Props to Indy for coming back and beating the best team of the new millenium (:smug: ) last night.
But I would love to see the Bears win.

Hester smashed a 55 year old NFL record by 2 touchdowns. As a ROOKIE! If that's not something to talk about I don't know what is.

But it was talked about as I've tried to show everyone. It got him a Pro Bowl birth and selected to the All Pro team for it. But I can think of several others that were able to play their position better as a rookie and change the course of games with it (Nick Mangold didn't allow a sack all year, Vince Young turned around a struggling team and almost got to the playoffs, Joe Addai rushed for 1000 yds without a single start, Reggie Bush was the biggest decoy... ever.) 4 of Devin's TDs came in games where the other team was getting steamrolled. Not to discount it though.

I think Vince was great, i don't know how dumb Houston was too not draft either Bush or Young, they'll be paying for it 2 times a year when they play each other.

All good choices sir, nice job.

My money is on Maurice Jones-Drew in Jax though. I know he did not win, but I think he should have.

I think Addai was the least talked about and most underated rookie that had a serious impact for his team this year. Like Adam said, 1000+ yds and not one single start in the regular season.

Yep, I could go on and on about him. He is a good football player and a classy individual. I've known about him and liked his game since I saw him and LSU whoop MSU by 30+ points.

we're :bawl: all the way a SB win.

Us vs Them

:D

yes, you are in fact crying all the way to the sb... and it's kinda weird. of course, it's typical chicago. they really crave respect. i love the city, lived there for a long time, but it's certainly part of the make up of the city -- an intense need to be recognized as the best. well, the team will get their chance to show they are the best in a week and a half... if you think it's this bad when they win a game, see how bad it will be when they lose :D

I believe that outside of the NO games where the Bears actually got no respect, they have had a lot of press good and negative. But IMHO i feel that the dissing is directed at the whole NFC and that the worst AFC team can pretty much
beat the best NFC no problem and that the Super Bowl is just going to be one big AFC blow out:rollno:

I'm sure the media will find away to bring that up in between talking up Peytons "legacy".

Meanwhile the Bears will go about their business and prove the experts and most of America wrong, and then it'll still be about Peyton not winning the big one:D

Well, Manning is the big story this next two weeks. Because of my ties to UF, and Peyton being from UT, I do not care one bit for him. That won't stop me from realizing that he is one of, if not the classiest guys in football. Add in that he is the best QB in the league right now.

I think the Manning angle this week is huge. The Colts have been knocking on this door for three or so years. They blew it open when Addai crossed the goal line and completed the biggest comeback in AFCCG history. With other AFC teams only getting better, this may be the best shot the Colts have at bringing a title to Indy.

What is the major Bears angle? A once dominate team that skated through the regular season, barely beat an overrated Seahawk team, then blew out the top offense in the NFL behind a QB who at best has been mediocre all year?

Sorry Bears fans, the next 11 days are all about Manning and his Colts.

I'll add that the reason he'll get the attention is because the man is a walking record breaking legend. How many times has a player been mentioned as a future HOF-er? Tons. How many times has one been recognized as best (currently) and ultimately will be or be among the "best ever" at his position? Not nearly as many and to have two players (Manning and Harrison) on the same offense with this status... it's history in the making.

I'm excited.
