NFL Week #3

Wow, you Steeler "fans" sure jumped off the ship awfully fast. I'm surprised Eric, but not so much from you Ed.

Philly can score, so can we. Philly can't play defense*, we can. Steelers win again.

*....the Rams game doesn't count fella's.

;)

No, not jumping ship, Mike, but this early in the season it's a bit too soon for me to be non-objective .... so far the Steelers haven't shown me that they can protect Big Ben with any consistency and Philly has a fierce pass rush and blitz. If, and it's a BIG if, the Steelers can keep Ben protected then they will beat the Eagles. But so far this year, they haven't shown me that they can keep the QB safe.

I really, REALLY don't want to see Philly win, but I know them well enough to realize that losing a tight one to Dallas gives them a lot of motivation. It's up to the Steelers O-line to protect the passer and its up to the D-line to keep the Eagles off the field. I'd love to be wrong about my pick ....

Hey Mike!! Long time no see!!!

I'm not jumping ship at all. Nothing would be more enjoyable than seeing Pittsburgh whoop Philly (other than watching Pittsburgh whip NE)... I'm just keepin' it real, my man. At this point in the season, I see Philadelphia as the better team. As I said earlier, if Ben airs it out some more to spread the D, I give Pittsburgh a damn good shot. If he continues to play super safe, I think Philly will prevail.

Sorry, buddy! :)

It's not a secret that the Packers have had problems with the Cowboys in the past. But that was with Favre at the helm, and for what ever reason, the Cowpokes always seemed to rattle him. I see Air Rodgers as having a cooler head than Favre, also more mobility. Despite the Pack's second half meltdown against the Lions, the Cowboys suspect secondary leads me to believe that this game is going to be a shootout.

Packers 37
Cowboys 34

Aaron seem to do okay against the 'Boys last year....and that was in that domed stadium with the hole in the roof....let's see how TO does on the Frozen Tundra....not to mention Romo is from Wisconsin so playing at Lambeau is a big deal to him, so I think he'll force some things. The O line is healthy and Woodson is playing this year. Look for Greg Jennings and Brandon Jackson to have big games.

Sorry, I'm the eternal optimist:
Pack 28
Cowboys 24

When Dallas starts rolling, they're damn near impossible to stop dead. It'll be a shootout for sure, I'm still saying that THIS YEAR, Dallas is the more experienced team. I don't think Rodgers has it in him to beat them yet, but as I'm also a packers fan, I'm hoping it's a close one.

After the second half of the third quarter the Colts finally started to click. The pashing offense might have to carry this team until the line is fixed. Inexplicably, this mostly rookie line is better at pass blocking than run blocking.

Jags are totally one dimensional and that isn't that good of a things with a injury plagued line.

I feel bad for Garrard if the Colts get a early lead. Del Rio is stupid enough to try and play keep up.

Other picks:
Atlanta
Buffalo
Chicago
Tennessee
Vikes
NE
Giants
Arizona
Detroit
Seattle
Denver
Pittsburgh
Baltimore
GB
San Diego

I was 10-5 last week.

:D Music to my ears!
Campbell deserves some credit. On the radio, Sonny and Sam were saying that he had the best game of his career so far.

I wouldn't get TOO excited, from what I saw, the Saints literally went out and laid an egg this weekend. Your boys are in what is arguably the toughest division in the NFL right now (backed up by the Monday Night game...whew...I'm still exhausted from watching all that stuff!).

Campbell didn't have his best game, he just got lucky and the Saints defense played a really BAD game.

LOL. 321 yards passing when his longest completion was 22 yards, and he completed two thirds of his passes with no INTs. That's not luck, that's impressive accuracy and timing. I'm no Skins fan, but I like Campbell.

Mike prolly stayed away until he realized that sooner or later, he'll have to play me in Tecmo Superbowl.

I thought for sure you would have moved on to another forum by now. Dang....I'll go back to the ESPN message boards for a few more months.

:D

BTW.....A trip to Culpeper is still possible to check on one of our sites. I asked my boss to put me on that site if they need to send someone out.
