NFL Week #4

I hope the Niners bounce back with a strong win against the Jets, but given the level of officiating I've seen, ESPECIALLY that debacle last night I'm not the least bit bothered by the fact that we'll be on vacation and I'll be missing this week's game.

Just ridiculously awful.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to watch this week's Bills game, but not 100% sure I want to. Could either be an amazing win over the Pats*, or it could be horrible game where the Pats* come in pissed off, neither FJ or CJ will be in and the Bills offence sucks, and the Pats* just roll over us.

If I can't watch it or watch it somewhere online, its the same as if I boycott right?

I'm feeling the same way from my end of things. Maybe the Pats will blow out the Bills, or maybe there'll be a number of phantom pass interference calls on both teams. Maybe the refs won't throw flags when there's a cheap shot, or maybe they'll throw every flag they have. Phantom holding calls, what else?

Now hockey, there's a sport where the refs basically never have control of the game. Goons rule.

Before the instegator penalty i would of agreed with you, but not anymore. Now the ref's can do plenty if they wanted to, the difference is the rules are more black and white, and the ref's have an easier time viewing the plays (No Camera guy to Fight off)

I remember when i was 16, my team were in the final's of a tournament against the home team..

If memory serves me right, we were tied in the third and got a penatly for cross checking for nothing.. So already down a guy, and i made a good hit on a much smaller kid, pure shoulder to shoulder, and the ref give's me a checking from behind penalty.. I was gone from the game, and someone else had to serve my penalty. We ended up playing the final 2 minutes 5 on 3 and lost.

The Bears offense improved from godawful (vs the Packers) to really bad (vs the Rams). Looks like they may be without Forte again and there are rumblings Bush isn't right at this point either. Bears fans could be in for more humiliation in primetime if it lands on the Bears passing "attack" to carry the team against a Cowboys D with more talent across the board than either the Packers or the Rams.

I would agree with you if this was a normal season. But with the refs we now have all bets are off. Anything can happen!

Never. Which is why Goodell thinks he can do whatever he pleases. Fans will keep showing up at stadiums, buying beer and hot dogs, buying jerseys, buying hats, and so on.

For every person who decides enough is enough, someone is in line behind him/her to get their ticket.

WOW, listen to this - makes NO sense whatsoever. The lockout is over this amount?

"As I mentioned Monday, my colleague Peter King reported that the difference between the NFL and the refs' union is $3.3 million a year. Well, there are 256 regular season games. The NFL could have the real refs if it forked over an extra $12,891 per game."

Too bad the acronym CFL is already in use, otherwise it would fit perfectly with the League these days - the Cheap Football League! :scowl:

there's more to it than money. For instance the NFL wants the refs to become full-time NFL employees, but the ref's have other full-time jobs or other part time jobs they don't want to give up. Sooo, they want their $50Kake and eat it too. Screw the refs.
