NFL Week #5

Bills have another interesting one against the Eagles. They had a rough dose of reality (and bad officiating) last week against the Bears that seemed like it set them back to themselves and quieted the media stir down a bit. Being at home and with the Eagles playing like they are it should be a decent one to watch. Will either be incredibly tight or a massive blow out, depending on which of each team decides to show up.

As for around the league, the only thing that stands out is my doubt that Cutler will survive this week against the Lion's D. Also, how sad is the situation in Miami that they're bringing in Trent Edwards and don't want to pay enough for Gerrard?

....i think it comes down to, is CJ finally getting into playing form or was last week a fluke (not that he was SPECTACULAR, just ok)

if the Titans can run the ball effectively, then they will win, because Hasselbeck can still throw the ball very well when he's protected.

I wouldn't worry about Ben. As was said, he's as tough as they come and will undoubtedly play his usual good game.

I predict this game will go into the fourth quarter, and may come down to which team has the ball last...

Having Big Ben slowed by a foot sprain really doesn't mean much. He's freakin' tough as they come and I would be shocked if he didn't play. Ben's biggest problem ( well maybe Mendy's too ) is his o-line. They are very porous right now.

Matt, on the other hand, has NEVER had a pass protecting o-line this good. With the tight ends at his disposal I think it really comes down to being accurate and letting CJ have some more carries this week. 2 TE sets with CJ in the back field presents a lot of passing targets for Matt and/or running options for CJ.

Still this is a toss up. The Steelers are in a bad situation and need this win desperately. The Titans get to go into a bye week after this one. I'm leaning towards the Steelers being more motivated.

That's just the thing. Our front 4 is playing great and the Steelers have a shaky O-line. I don't think this game comes down to keeping the Steelers off the board though, because we've been playing stellar D. I think it comes down to being able to find enough holes in their D to score enough times to win.

We get Hall back this week too, so hopefully the running game really picks up, but Britt's absence will clearly be felt more this week. Pitt is going to bring the heat, and this may be the first week that MH shows that he's still human, especially if he gets knocked around a bit.

This is a trap game for us, and it definitely scares me, but it should be a great game to watch.

you know, this year i feel real good about our ability to protect the Q back from the heat. and to a lesser extent I also feel good about our ability to put heat ON Ben.

britt will be missed, true enough, but they have been catching the ball pretty good.

i feel real good. not confident of a win, but confident we can stay in the game.... who knows.... 4th quarter, tight game? is CJ really back or not, that is the question.

this has the potential to be a titans win.

Soooo, the Eagles lose. Again. Starting to have flashbacks of the Rich Kotite/Ray Rhodes years. Seriously. There are so many things wrong with our team that we seem to not be learning from. The coaching SUCKS. I'll be kind- Juan Castillo SUCKS as a defensive coordinator. Andy Reid STILL can't think on his feet (example: calling a timeout when the Bills are lining up to punt). I think an eight year old would have been able to stay put on the line better than Jaqua Parker. Everyone on the planet knew they weren't going to snap the ball. The worst thing about today is that we started staging a comeback. Until Reid's dumb timeout call and Parker's jumpy nerves. ARGH.....

Onto Washington next week. Yipee.

Pretty impressed with the Seahawks today! Last time we won on the East Coast was around 2007. The Giants didn't seem to be themselves but they've had a pretty soft schedule so far this year... Like the Atlanta game last week, it's still a little hard to tell how much we're improving vs. playing teams that may not be as good as thought.

I thought they were a solid team, but man do they seem inconsistent. One week they look like division contenders, the next they look like a team that may not win another game. I think part of it is their division is over rated. New Orleans is a good team but they seem to play down to the level of their competition. Atlanta appears terribly overrated, in this pass happy league they haven't had a sack in three weeks. So all the division games on their schedule appear tougher than the actually are.
