NHCD: Ibanez MRB500C

The hardshell case manual doesn't say anything about the Grooveline series. I don't own one either, so I couldn't make sure.

I was offered one, like a couple of years ago, by one of local Ibanez dealers. But IIRC, it was like a blemished stock, either the hardware got rusted, the included hard case tolex got torn, or both, or something else...

Hi Aidil,

Are you still using and happy with this case? As it seems to fit the SR and BTBs so well, I thought one would be fine, reconfigure depending on what I want to use. Not priced too bad locally either, but there are a couple of SKBs that look good too.

@A9X,
I think you definitely should get one, since you own BTB and SR basses.

I don't have any reason that makes me unhappy with this hardshell case. But, I should mention that it mainly functions only as a storage for any certain bass that I can't put on the wall hangers, as I don't have space to hang all my basses and I haven't had any fly dates that required me to bring my bass inside the HSC eversince I bought it (and then the pandemic hit). For local gigs, I have a lots of high quality gigbags which are way more convenient to use.

Thanks. I did a search on goolag and the thread came up, so I thought it best to ask someone who's opinion I know and regard rather than some random.

Likewise I have some decent gigbags but I thought it still might be worthwhile for longer trips. Though I was not too fond of the poplar burl on the BTB when I got it, I've become very protective of it. The girls I used to accompany will soon be 6hrs+ drive from me so I might need to fly and would prefer a hardcase even if only for an annual gig with them. Most of the time I just use the Woodbergers and shotgun bags are perfect for them.
