According to Twitter they have already said their plans to do exactly that. What a funny turn of events would it be if Pittsburgh and Philly swapped goalies.

According to late in this article, Crosby wants the Penguins to keep Fleury:

And that is a HORRIBLE contract for Streit!!! Even with Briere and Bryzgalov going. Figure negotiations are on with Giroux and that is expected to be around 8 and 8.

That "article" is just sand-kicking based on one assumption and one rumor. And by the way I'm no Crosby fan.
Bad, bad, bad, bad move for the NHL. No way in heck the Seattle market supports an NHL team, no way.

Not a fan of a Seattle team myself. Quebec or Hamilton or another Toronto team would seem to be a good idea.
I'm for it as long as it doesn't interfere with Columbus' recent move to the Eastern Conference. Having only one other team from your time zone in your conference was the worst.
Only got to see the last half of the game last night. Boston appears to be dominating at this point. Stats don't exactly show it, but Boston seems to be getting the better chances and when called upon, Rask just comes up with the huge save to dimsnalte Chicago's hopes. Crawford and the posts are the only reasons it has been close. This could end in 5.
The Hawks just played badly last night. They almost looked as if they didn't care. They're certainly capable of playing up to Boston's level and they did so in the two previous games. Bruins certainly played a great game but Chicago was truly awful. The 2-0 final score should probably have been 6-0.
Don't know what their deal is, but they'd better get their act together by the time the puck drops for the next game.

Haven't been following the finals too closely but from the bits and pieces that I'm seeing and the stats that I'm looking at,...the Hubs are dominating in the Faceoff dot; and that stat is always my biggest clue as to who the better/more confident team is.
I also don't think that the Hawks have the answer to the Hubs defense.
Not really sure what to think about the Striet signing. There isn't really anything to add to what you guys don't already know; beyond the fact that the Flyers need to be deep with defensemen since they seem to drop like flies. I feel like Striet upgrades the defense,...but with that signing the Flyers sit well above the cap, and it's not really a long term solution.
Perhaps we see Hartnell traded (speculation) along with Bryz and Briere bought out (media speculation).
If the Flyer's buyout Bryz and hand over the reigns to Mason; which is a huge gamble, then who backs him up? They aren't deep enough at the goalie position. Do they just ride Mason for a majority of the season and wear him out like they did Bryz last season? I'm not so sure that the writing is on the wall for Bryzgalov; despite what the pot stirring press has to say. I'll gladly eat my words if I'm incorrect. In a perfect world,...Bryz is a better goalie than Mason.
Buyout Briere? I've liked Briere for his entire tenure as a Flyer, he's a playoff performer,...and I would be sad to see him go,..but him getting bought out is more likely seeming to me.
Ditto Hartnell,...he is a Flyer through and through,...but may be at the end of his tenure here. Not sure about an NTC and this is pure speculation,...he had a few good runs and is a great agitator; get under the skin type player but this past season he seemed really disinterested/had given up to me.
I'm wondering if Cooter may be on the chopping block as well (that would also give me a sad).
All I know is without a decent defensive shake up; I will be surprised if the Flyers make a serious push for the cup in the next 5 or so years and by that time; guys like Giroux, Simmonds and Vorececk will be pushing past their prime.

I agree that ANY north of the border city would get behind it's hockey.
That said Seattle will support a Pro team. They already have 3 major Juniors teams and there is more hockey in that city than you likely to suspect.

Datsyuk extends his contract in Detroit through 2016-17. He's one of those players I can see still being effective three years from now. Great news!

I don't think Hartnell will be going anywhere. 11-12 season he was on top of his game and hit a setback with injuries this year. He helps out Giroux when he's on and I think he will this year. With Voracek on the other wing, that is a great top line.

This is true which is why I caveat-ed speculation.
I try not to succumb to rumors; whether media generated or armchair GM generated.
Fact of the matter is the only person who knows what's got through Homer (and Snider's) head is Homer (and Snider).
I'm definitely interested in seeing what will take place over the summer. If anything; Holmgren has proven that he is a risk taker.
The optimist in me thinks perhaps all that is need is an actual season to see if some actual chemistry can develop. I don't know what Philly's passing percentage was like last season; but it had to have been awful.
Rumor had it the Pens were going to win the Stanley Cup this season. So yeah, I don't pay attention to those.

If you get a chance, try to watch tonight. The series to date has been great. Games 1 and 2 were as tight as the OT's suggest and easily could have gone the other way, the B's did have an edge in the play in Game 3 (Hossa out didn't hurt the B's cause). I assume that Game 4 will see a more desperate Chicago team and we'll be looking at something more like games 1 and 2.
I hope that the Hawks don't watch any of the Boston-Toronto first round series - the Leafs had the B's D figured out reasonably well.
