NHL 2013 regular season thread!

Briere, however, needs to step it up. He's nearly invisible, out there!

I feel like Briere is kinda in the same boat that Gagne was in L.A. Not really sure what his role is here.

I know there is a game on tonight, and I just can't bring myself to watch it. Thinking I might just take the wife out on the town and torrent the game to watch later.

With regard to knowing much about teams other than the Flyers. I don't really watch other teams. I don't have the time and I don't think my family would tolerate me watching hockey every night of the week.

The wife and I are heading to Schenectady on Saturday for game two between Union and Dartmouth in the ECAC quarterfinals. If it goes to game three, we'll spend the night and hang around for that game too.

Yep. 1st choice in my pool and I got him.

But the real story is Kunitz who's tearing it up. Crosby & Kunitz are almost as telepathic as the Sedins twins. They have eyes at the back of their heads and almost every goal is gorgeous!

I was hoping that this one would have been in Boston, but I just noticed that it is back in Pittsburgh. The Pens' home crowd was impressive last game, they didn't give up and obviously neither did the team. The worst part for me was that once the Pens got the first goal, the crowd seemed to know that the Pens had the game in control even though they were still behind by one, and it was just a matter of time before they get another one (and another one. :()

The B's are coming into this one with the first line starting to come around, the second has been good all year, and the third and fourth have picked up their games in the last couple of weeks - we'll need them all if this turns into one of those Pen-Flyer type games.

The B's have had a couple of ugly wins where lapses in defense and effort haven't bitten them in the butt. That will not work this afternoon.

Well, looks like Vokoun will be in net tonight. Hopefully he doesn't let any easy ones in. Our defense has stepped it up, only giving up 4 goals in the past 4 games. Pens top line is playing out of their minds right now. Before when it was mainly Crosby facilitating the success of Dupuis and Kunitz, both his undrafted wing partners have taken their game to another level and are both playing all star caliber hockey. Should make for an excellent game today.

Yeah, and you can't pin it all on Bryzgalov. He HAS been getting worse as the season wears on, but he has no defense in front of him.

Might be time for Briere to hang 'em up. He hasn't shown me much of anything this year. Not sure what has happened to Coburn, but he's becoming a turnover machine. Timonen is getting old and has definitely lost a step. Giroux has been picking up a fair amount of assists, but not very many goals. Not sure if the Captaincy was given to him too soon. He seemed more loose and relaxed last year.

I've pretty much written off this season. And while you can't blame it all on Bryzgalov; but I'm beginning to think we should have kept the other Russian goalie! Bob has been on fire lately...

Yeah I dont really think there was any real reason to give G the captaincy. He's too young and they're going to do the same thign they did to Richards, put too much pressure on a young player. He's at his best when he's relaxed like you said. Would have rather seen an experienced guy like Timmonen take it. Also, I was against getting rib of Bob from the second I heard about it, he just needed to develop.

I cheer for plenty of players and teams that I like..

Me too man, unless they're penguins. ;)

I kid, even I can appreciate some of sick stuff that Malkin drops on defenses.

Although Voracek finally became the player he was initially drafted to become.

Up until this year, I had always thought of him as another Zherdev. So it's not all bad...

Briere, however, needs to step it up. He's nearly invisible, out there!

I was just discussing this at work with a buddy of mine. I think they should trade off Briere to a team that's looking for an experienced player for some young talent, someone to develop. Voracek can MORE than fill the hole that Briere will leave.
