NHL 2013 regular season thread!

Better effort by the B's, same result, the Pens are tough (not exactly news, I know).

Krejci took a slapper off the knee, that had to hurt. With Kelly out indefinitely as well, I hope that the B's will get busy and find replacements - they have some space under the cap.

As a Pens fan I find it scariest when Voracek has the puck on his stick. That guy is no joke.

Rask is a little scary, probably plays it too much and is average at best, maybe a little below average. Khudobin plays it a lot but he seems a lot better at it than Rask.

Which goalies are generally considered to be good with the stick and which are scary?

Boston, you need more than one goal to beat Pittsburgh. Even when you have your best goalie playing.

Interesting twist on the game Sunday. Last meeting on Tuesday, it was the Pens #1 goalie and Boston had their #2. On Sunday, it was the Pens #2 goalie while Boston rolled out their #1. Either team want to try a third goalie? Maybe Brent Johnson and Tim Thomas for the next game? :D

Yeah Vokoun had 3 games in a row where I think he kind of lost his confidence. He was going down to the ice on every shot, leaving the net wide open. People kind of panicked, but I didn't. He is a good goalie. Seems relieving Fleury in the Flyers game really helped his confidence. He has looked fantastic lately. Hope it stays that way going into the playoffs.

Hey buddy, thanks for joining us.

As a Sabres fan, what's your take on the Miller/Kaleta situation? I don't like how Miller handled it myself.

-Mike

My pleasure!

I actually haven't heard Kaleta's comments yet, but have heard Miller's response. Tbh, it sounds like neither if them handled it very well.

I can understand the frustration. The team is in free-fall and getting major heat from every side. Fans and local media are hammering the team. I was actually pretty shocked that Kaleta was a healthy scratch last night (his first game avail after suspension). He's never going to be a 30 goal fwd, but he brings a lot to the Sabres game and really helps disrupt the opponents. By all reports, Kaleta didn't even know he was a scratch, as he was on the ice for pre game warmups. I'd prob be ticked off too!

Miller should know better than to comment like that, though. He's a leader on this team and needs to act as such.

Unfortunately, par for the course, this season. Speaking of par, looks like the Sabres will be playing golf nice and early this year

"I'm pissed off. I want to play," Kaleta told the Buffalo News prior to Sunday's game. "And especially after watching some things, sitting there watching the game, I want to play. ...I guess they don't need me right now I guess."

"I've been pissed off watching for the past couple weeks. No matter if you're a fan, a player, you guys know what's going on. You should be pissed off. You should play with a little piss and vinegar. You shouldn't be happy. We're not in position we want to be in. We have to work harder, come in and do something about it."
