NHL Offseason 2014

Well for me it's two-fold...it's the only time the Blackhawks are in DC for the season, and it's the added hoopla of being outdoors. I can catch them in Philly in March too, but Pittsburgh is a bit far for me.
As a Pen's fan, I find this headline from a Pittsburgh newspaper disappointing: Pens' Rutherford expects to lose Niskanen, Jokinen; could trade first-round draft pick.

The Pens went with a local guy, well local to me, for their next head coach. Mike Johnston is the man. He has been coaching the Portland Winterhawks. Too bad the Pens traded away Joe Morrow. Johnston coached Morrow in Portland.

Callahan is staying in Tampa after signing a six year deal. Gaborik gets a seven year deal to stay in LA. Where will Kesler land?

Pick 17 for the Flyers. I don't see them moving up. I wonder if the move towards a speedier club will follow suit in the draft. If so I wouldn't be surprised if Roland McKeown is the pick. He can skate his ass off. His size is "ok". If they roll with the old school Philly mold then Alex Tuch seems a lock @ 17. I dunno. I guess it hinges on trades within the next few hours. One rumor I'm not liking is the tubby Jet, Dustin Byfuglien, coming to Philly.
He's not tubby anymore, and we aren't trading Byfuglien. You're getting Kane. We're getting Simmonds, among other things.
You know, I wouldn't doubt it. Anything the FO does for the Flyers makes the outlandish seem believable. FMSL...
So glad the Kings signed Gabby long term. I liked him when he was in Minnesota and had always hoped he'd land in LA. Now that he is locked up long term, I may snag a jersey. Still need to get a Doughty Jersey too. LGK!
Kane and Toews want $12,000,000 each, per season. But they will leave some money on the table to win a SC. I think they'll need to leave a lot of money on the table if they want to win more.
