They are definitely built more for the playoffs than the regular season. That was evident in the Cup run of 12 and this year as well.
Hopefully Gaborik can stay healthy. With the very underrated Kopitar as his Center, he just needs to stay healthy and he'll put up big numbers. He clearly loves playing in LA. The thought was, he wouldn't play D but he's played very good D since arriving and has bought in to Sutter's system. Reading his interview somewhere about how he loves living in LA, loves this group of guys, add in winning and it was kind of a no brainer to resign for less money. LA's locker room doesn't really allow guys to come in and be too distant. They immediately try to bond with new players. Which explains why the Carter and Richardson trade looked so good almost immediately. Now the Gaborik trade looks the same.
