Avs trade Parenteau and a 5th round pick in 2015 to the Habs for Daniel Briere. He is getting older, but he did some work for the Flyers back in the day, and that level of experience is sorely needed on the Avs right now. Hoping it works out well.

The Briere trade sort of surprises me. I thought he went to Montreal to finish out his career. I thought he was from that area.

Yeah, that's what I read. Odd. But apparently Parenteau was on the outs with Roy throughout the season. So they may have just been trying to get rid of him.
Ottawa sends Spezza to Dallas. That must be tough on Senator fans watching another long time player move on down the line.

I really don't understand the hate about Ryan Miller signing with Vancouver. Clearly, Vancouver needs a veteran #1 until Lack is ready to assume. Three years must be the window for Lack to prepare himself for that role.
Yeah, his numbers kinda suck, but he was with Buffalo, enough said. And St. Louis, they're a good regular season team but horrible in the playoffs. Eliminated by LA twice in a row and by Chicago this year. They haven't made the WCF since...whenever?

Ehrhoff signs with the Pens. I'm guessing Niskanen is all but a goner at this point. If true, that is very disappointing.

This is crazy, and all feels very bad for the Pens. I understand new leaders wanting to change thing and bring in fresh faces, but this just feels like too much? I guess I just don't see the vision or reason here.
The bleeding of the Pens continues, Glass to NYR. I didn't like Rutherford anyway, he's just giving me more reasons.
