BTW i happen to disagree... there wasent but there were far more of equal high scoring... sharks had what? 8+ players with 20 goals or more? i like that much better then 1 person on team with 50 goals... fun to watch when everyone on team is involved:]

I disagree on this. Where will the league go when there are not any stars?? They are certainly not going to market to an entire team of 20 goal scorers. A majority of the people arn't going to want that.

Just because a team has a 50 goal scorer dosn't mean the rest of the team won't score. Look up some of the stats from the 80's/early 90's. When a player used to score 30 or so goals, it was just a routine thing, now your among the league leaders....that's just odd to me. Where is all the talent?

good luck with philly :] and really look up Kharlamov... he was amazing player and great person... just a shame that Soviet was so screwed up to murder such a great player/person

To all watch a tape of #17 if you can find it
Kharlamov's son, Alexander, played here in Norfolk in the East Coast Hockety League(ECHL). IIRC, he wore #10; we won the Cup his last season with the club.
At the victory celebration(since the Cup was won on the road), he looked like he had been in battle...he's not the biggest guy & his face was covered with fresh scars.
He was a battler while he played here.

I surprised you're not railing on Bobby Clarke!

The younger Kharlamov was property of the Washington Caps; he was in Portland, Maine for a stint in the AHL...eventually, I guess, the Caps decided he was not in their plans & shipped him down here(we were the AA farm team of Washington at the time).
I don't recall seeing video of his dad; I do recall hearing stories about him from our then-coach(John Brophy) & then-radio play-by-play guy.

You should NOT have shaved that playoff beard if your team was still in it!
Shame on you!

on the plus side, a team from Canada finally makes the finals. Which is good. Hockey belongs in the north.

Hells yes! First time a Canadian team has made it since '94... it's about time.

Anyone who doesn't think Calgary deserves this hasn't been watching the games... they constantly outwork any opponent. The reason the Sharks looked bad was because they were so tired from teams who actually have a forecheck instead of laying back in the trap.

Of course.
How many BLUE LINE slappers did you guys slip past Hextall/Snow?
...about a dozen?

A dozen at least. I thought the series was pretty good at least, always good to see Stevie win the cup. :D

Philly is better this time around though, but be prepared for a very boring series filled with holding, grabbing, defence, and all that fun stuff, Philly or Tampa. Calgary will do that.

I'm actually kind of rooting for Philly, i just can't picture a team from Florida winning the cup. There are no palm trees in hockey!

Good team.. deserved every win they got

Except for 1st shark game... 52 shots... keeper saved them

Cheers

Crap...missed it.

I get called into work(for nuthin); I leave my house at 9:00 & arrive at work at 10:15...10 lousy miles. Friggin' "Nighttime Tunnel Work".
Anyway, I'm checking my pager for updates-
TBL_4 Phi_3 3P

...I'm thinking it's done.

I get to work & call a fellow tech; he tells me it's 4-4.
On the way home, he calls me & sez it's 5-4 Philly in the 1st Overtime.
I say "...alright, they won".
He sez, "...there's still about a minute or so left in OT".
Huh? "They won then, right"!
"...oh, they don't finish the overtime like they do in basketball"?

"Uh...no".
