Well i still think that crowd and fans has to-do with style of playing and US and Canadian crowd is different (people who know hockey, really know it… are minority in San Jose) ... again... booing your own goalie when he WINS the game because he came out from goal too much... there is something terribly wrong with that... HE WON THE GAME... STOP BOOING... this been going on for several years (in playoffs for SJ) and now look what NHL is trying to-do... goalies cant leave the net... i wonder why... most people I know who play or know about hockey hate that idea... rest "he should not leave the net.... its not his job... bluh bluh bluh"
Yes he should if it wins the game....

I hope this point of view makes sense...

...I'm a little upset Philly yielded those two 3rd Period goals to a totally dejected Lightning team.

Kapinen's shorthander was sweet.

I like Brasheer's 2 "hits" in the last couple of minutes.

From what i hear it wasent all that great... friend of my hated it because it made americans look like whiny sissies... because they never did anything and complained when russians did anything on ice... i dono... did you get same idea from it? or did you like it?

They have problems with simple brake downs... they play good... good... good... then boom out of no where its 4 on -5 short handed... i dont get it

Blame that on arena availability...I guess?
Example-
Our local team gets screwed every playoff season by the City.
a)We make the playoffs every year.
b)The City always schedules some goofy event.
One year, we had to play the 1st THREE games of Round 2 on the road.
Another year, we had to play an entire round in the Richmond Coliseum(100 miles away).
The worst was a Game 7, 'at home', at a local skating ring(capacity = about 500 fans; a lottery was held to see who could attend). We lost.

BTW, I don't see it as 'evil Commies' getting beat.
I do see it as one of the greatest hockey 'machines' in the history of mankind being upset by students. A parallel woulda been the USA's Dream Team I being beat by a Russian college basketball team.

I am not saying that you or anyone else does... i am just saying everytime i see something about that game its always has a sense of that politicle "stuff"... no one ever talks about how great that team was and how amazingly good the game was... it always tent to be this politicle stuff in it which is just getting old...

And on that basket ball game... um only specials i've seen were "how ref who blew the game down with 3secs to go was communist" and how "USSR cheated" thats just a big part why a great games like that gets ruined.. its sad really... americans were really good in that game... very good team:]

Now lets hope Sharks win next 2 and philly wins so sharks could beat philly in finals and i could go "ha ha" :D good luck tonight:]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]

i must add........it's going to be a sad thing if a team like Calgary makes the finals... THEY ARE NOT THAT GOOD OF A TEAM! And aparently they are perfect too, they seem to be the only team that is allowed to grab and hold without getting called for it. The officals in the game these days are awful, the NHL is in a very sad state these days.

Calgary is this years Mighty Ducks.

I recall watching that game in the '72 Olympics(?). It was a shocking ending(s)...I think it's great the players never accepted their Silver medals.
BTW, that USA team was comprised of students/amateurs....I was comparing Dream Team I(elite Professionals) to your '80 Soviet hockey team.

i have to second this. talent-wise, they are not the best team ever assembled, true. but they are committed to winning and work so hard, they have been able to overcome any talent defecits they've faced thus far. i'm a big fan of teams that play as a team and work really hard. it goes a long way.

true, they also play a little dirty sometimes, but that's part of hockey -- knowing when to get a little dirty to knock the opponent off their game. it shifts their focus. and calgary has done an excellent job of that as well.

still, i'd like to see tampa v. san jose in the finals. i think tampa will win it all. i have been saying that since detroit got knocked out. i thought they'd be able to take the east after their first-round performance.

While I agree that the officiating has been crap, San Jose is just as guilty, as are all the other teams in the playoffs.

On paper Calgary isn't a great team, but they are well coached, have great chemistry and are all hardworking players. In the playoffs, that's a very difficult combination to play against.

Calgary is nothing like the Mighty Ducks, who rode a hot goalie the whole way, winning games 1-0 more often than not.

Yes i have watched the games. Espically against the series against Detroit. I'm not just saying this because i'm a PO'ed Detroit fan, my team played like crap and didn't deserve to win.

But teams like Calgary are dulling down the game with that hold and grab style of play. We can all thank New Jersey for that. Teams like Calgary don't need lot of talent to win because they can just hold and grab, and magically not get penalized. the way the game is played these days is awful. I can see why it's the lowest rated sport.

I'm still amazed there wasn't even a 50 goal scorer this season, that's pretty bad.

Ok ya... i agree with that but we all know that having 20stars on team doesnt work all the time... major mistake was taken out a good goalie after 2 goals were scored... russians were still on top:P

"my soviet team" is overstatement thank you... i never liked soviet union... as a country:P i like people/hockey team there but they are certenly not entirely "my" :D

Eh... on not excepting silver... i dono... see.. those players did not do anything wrong... it was official... give me a break that 1st ending could have gone in if that dork didnt run out on a court... the last play was very good... not excepting the lose is diss to those players who did not do anything wrong really... its just not a great thing todo...

Same goes to soviet doing same thing but its slightly diffrent when your gov is going to kill you because of it... you know... (Kharlamov, the best player of all time one of the greatest ever lived my hero someone i always wish i could play like was besicly killed because of that loss... the saddest thing ever... i still wear his number when i play and have his jerseys... i hightly recommand btw if you get a chance watch some of his playing... amazing player... he doesnt skate it looks like he is not touching the ice... not bad of a skater for someone who had asmath)

but in the end... players didnt do anything and those kind of moves disrespects players more then anything... IMO

good luck with philly :] and really look up Kharlamov... he was amazing player and great person... just a shame that Soviet was so screwed up to murder such a great player/person

Keeper faced 52 shots in 1st game... eh... not riding a good goalie eh? :D

I disagree/agree though... calgary does have great players on their team and calgary is very good team... you guys just think its not because media never talks about em... every team media screamed about is out fellas... thats all i know...

BTW i happen to disagree... there wasent but there were far more of equal high scoring... sharks had what? 8+ players with 20 goals or more? i like that much better then 1 person on team with 50 goals... fun to watch when everyone on team is involved:]
