The Jets had something of a rivalry with the Whalers, as teams from the WHA. But the rivalry I remember the most was between the Whalers and the Nordiques. At Whalers home games with Québec, there'd always be a whole section--a busload or two--of Nordiques dressed in blue and making noise with horns and cowbells. I had to admit, they were the most enthusiastic fans I'd ever seen.

In Cal we have town called "Panocho" and small creek called "Butt Berry" and i think there is a town near that creek called "Butt Berry". Of course we have a town called "Weed" too. :D

Yeah well, i am proud of all our records :D

And yeah, smaller team does sound like it suites your town better. I actually love watching college hockey and I assume that AHL is somewhat similar.

Ticket prices here aren’t that high btw, sharks games you can get tickets for $25, in playoffs it goes up to like $30 not too bad.

The Canadian distributor for a company I used to work for was based in Mississauga. The owner was telling me about something in his office. The way he pronounced it was somewhere in between "cooch" and "coach," and I had no idea what he was saying. "A what?" I kept asking him. And he answered, "A cooach." I still didn't get what he was saying, and then he finally said, "Oh, maybe you call it a sofa." Then I got it. ;)

I was brought up with "chesterfield". I think it's ye olde English.

The Moose lost to the Cleveland Barons, farm team to the San Jose Sharks! When I saw we were playing the Barons, I thought of you, Serg. :) Their logo is ridiculous, though. A shark with a monocle and top hat? Pure hilarity! How truly "baron-esque"! ;)

Well, the Oilers won AND the Canucks lost. Double wham. Oh well, the good side of this is that the Moose will get some awesome players for OUR playoff run! :D GO MOOSE!

Somebody in the states has got to explain that one to me. Every American drops that one when I tell them I'm a canuck. I have never heard a Canadian pronounce it like that and I lived in five provinces.

Toronto sucks.

Well...ok...Maritimers and warm lovely people with an interesting accent. Sometimes, on the national news, the rural accents of the nefanese is so thick you need english subtitles.

Toronto still sucks.

And the CN Tower, precursor to the CNN Tower.

And MuchMusic.

And for movie producers making a film set in New York City but who don't want to pay the production costs (it's the *Big* Apple for a number of reasons), it serves as a location stand-in because much of it looks like New York. But in many ways it's actually the opposite of New York. For example, in NYC you'll hear "Hey! Get off my car!!" But in TO it'll be pronounced as "Get off my car, eh?" ;)
