NHL Playoffs!

ESPN dropped the NHL for more favorable events like Poker. :rollno:
Outdoor Life Network (OLN) picked up where ESPN left off. Too bad so sad for Darren Pang. :crying: :p

And then it got even worse... they said they will not show OLN anywhere but Comcast, now people with dish only can get any NHL game besides home team by paying $300+ because Comcast refuses to show it to them...

I hate hockey...

1. The Gophers lost, and the Badgers won it all:bawl:, I get so much **** from my badger loving buddy.
2. The Wild didn't even make it to the playoffs because we have like 1 good defenseman
3. The top team at my school didn't win the national championship
4. My buddies team lost in the section chamionships, and didn't get to go to state(although I'm more sad for him than the team, because they weren't very good IMO)
5. Jamie McBain is going to be a Badger, which makes no sense because he was born and raised in Minnesota, until he left for NTDP. What did you people in Michigan do to him!?!?

The good thing about Toronto not making the playoffs is that at least you know we'll get some Hockey Night in Canada coverage of the Ottawa games and maybe Montreal. Otherwise, it's usually Hockey Night in Toronto with the play-by-play of Bob "Go Leafs Go" Cole.

Montreal still hasn't secured a playoff spot. Atlanta refuses to give up and Tampa is still around.

i would love to see atlanta overtake the lightning for the last playoff spot.

i'm really impressed with how detroit has been playing lately. our season series against the stars wasn't that impressive, but i challenge them to beat us in seven.

and i wouldn't be true detroit if i didn't also mention the pistons.

and because he was one of the greatest college goalies ever, and a hobey baker winner, with michigan state, i'm pulling for ryan miller and the buffalo sabres. my friend from niagra falls will appreciate it.

Ahh, Bob Cole. Personally I love the way he doesn't even know the names of the Ottawa players. Makes for a fun night. Unfortunately Saturday didn't work out for the Sens, but I'm hoping they come on strong in the playoffs.

Anyway, I just found this fun little eBay playoff pool and went ahead and created a TalkBass league. The pool is located over Invalid Link Removed and the league is TalkBass (password TB). I just tossed a team together off the top of my head, but we get until Friday to finalize our picks. It seems to be free and there's money to be won, so any Canadians out there should really join (it's through eBay.ca so I don't know if you folks from south of the border can join or not).

Thanks for setting that up, Nate. I signed up (and I'm definitely south of the border!)

After reading through the rules it seems like only Canadians are eligible to win prizes, but I'm not sure that that'll stop you from joining the fun.

For those Canucks out there considering joining, the winner of each round gets a 19" wide screen LCD TV and whoever wins the whole shebang gets $5000 worth of eBay gift certificates. I don't plan on winning, but it's nice to think about.
