NHL Season 2018-19

Nice win at home by the Pens behind plenty of secondary scoring. I am glad when they surprise me that way, especially without Malkin.
No Malkin tonight for the game in Toronto.
Cool to see Sullivan put the two new guys right to work, with Bjugstad (+2) filling in for Malkin as the second line center. Even my buddy Jack was a +2.

Solid performance tonight Toronto, even the Pens played well.
Well deserved win for the Maple Leaves. :)

Made it a bit too exciting at the end though. Whoever left Kessel alone in front with 2 seconds left is going to hear it from Babs....but yeah, quite the game. Would not mind seeing a playoff series between those 2 teams, would be fun to watch!

So yesterday afternoon Mrs. GLG and me took grandson to the Toronto Marlie game...

game on now, looking serious (yes, had some pizza too!)

Then off to our house for a sleepover...he was VERY concerned we would not make it home in time to watch the Leafs on TV....we just made it in time!

Carolina comes to Pittsburgh Tuesday night. This is always a tough game for me. Jordan Staal was one of my favorite Pens, so while I'm hoping the Pens win when they play I really hope Jordan plays well.
He's injured (concussion) and not playing now, and may be out the rest of the season, so it'll be a bummer not seeing him play again.

Kudos to the Leafs for getting Mathews' deal done quickly. No distractions for that young man for the next 5 years or so. Cap hit ($11.634M) puts him second behind McDavid's $12.5M. FWIW, Tavares is third, and Nylander is seventh. I'm sure Marner will end up in that range in the near future.

Just hope the Leafs can win it all with only those four players alone, because I'm guessing it'll be tough to afford much quality depth.

There are a bunch of us up here willing to play for nothing. All we should have to do is sit on the bench and watch the top three lines....
