NHL Season 2019-20

With Florida as one of the other teams I follow, I was familiar with Matheson and his skating ability and skill set. IMO a big upgrade over Justin Schultz. However giving up a heart-and-soul leader from a team that is strongly lacking heart-and-soul leadership may be too big of a price to pay. On the other hand, we're shipping out a 33-yr-old banged up guy for a 26-yr-old puck-moving D-man, which don't exactly grow on trees. (But we already have Letang and Marino. :cautious:) Sceviour could play the role vacated by Hornqvist, but likely will be a throw-in for the next deal Rutherford makes.

One of those deals where you gotta give up an asset to get an asset. On the fence but leaning toward reluctantly liking this deal.
I like both FL teams. I'm not liking losing these 2 for a "33 y/o banged up guy".

Well TampaBay beat Dallas
in overtime 5 - 4. I thought they were pretty evenly matched and would have been alright with any outcome, if the referees hadn't interfered. That's not the way a game should be settled.
All the announcers were pointing out that the call they made against J. Benn was a bad, wrong call. They shouldn't affect the outcome that way. I know they have a hard job, and they got to the Cup Finals, by being the best refs available.
I wish there was a better way to make sure they didn't make a wrong call, but the last thing I want to do is slow down the game with a bunch of reviews.

They admitted that the "embellishment" on Point was incorrect(the guy had his stick in Point's crotch), so it goes both ways. I/We'll take it.

Yeah, it seems to all even out. It's just that sometimes it effects the outcome, which I'm pretty sure it did in this case. Still, I don't want to have a review of everything, so that it gets as slow as basketball, or American football.

Basketball: everyone runs to one end. Somebody shoots, somebody fouls; 1 guy takes 1 or 2 shots. Now run to the other end. Lather, rinse, repeat. I don't watch B-Ball.

It takes 25 minutes to play the last minute on the clock. Stopping every half second.
All I've ever watched was the end of games that ran long, while I was waiting for hockey to come on!
Anyway, you've fit a great team. As I said, I think both teams were pretty evenly matched. I just wish the refs hadn't stacked the deck against Dallas, by making a bad call.

Dallas defeated TampaBay in the 2OT
3 - 2. Glad there will be more hockey.

Once again, the questionable calls by the refs really have me wondering if they read the rule book. Someone please explain how the Stars iced it, when TBs goalie shot the puck sideways off his pads, from in the blue paint.....???

that's what drives me crazy about the NHL, that damn second rule book. I'm not sure how the players know how a game is going the called.

Calls were missed both ways by the refs. The commentators, contrary to what they've said, seem to be favoring the Stars. The 'thing' off Vasi's pad isn't reviewable. Still, I wonder if Toronto can't say something. Oh, well, more hockey. And I'll be missing the Monday night 'open mic/jam'.

Sure, they missed calls both ways. But, some of the really boneheaded ones like that are hard to believe. They are probably going to start having an 'off-ice official' reviewing those kind of calls. It was different when they didn't have instant replay on TV in the old days. But now, all the fans see exactly what went on. Monday 8pmE
