Laine expressed perceived dissatisfaction in Winnipeg. Probably beneficial for both teams. The stages might not be the most eye catching for the players.
Oh that was a shootout; they just didn’t need extra time to get there.
What an embarrassment.
I shut it off with 12 mins left in the 3rd.
I had coursework to button up for the week.
Some speculation/rumors that Winnipeg (who are already deep at center) will possibly unload Dubois for a top defenseman (or two). Not really sure who would be available but with having to wait out a 14-day quarantine, there's a slight chance he won't ever suit up for the Jets.
As far as Laine in Columbus, just my two cents but I don't see him succeeding under Torts. Laine always seemed somewhat immature and easily distracted off his game. Plus he'd be the go-to guy offensively and not sure he can handle that type of responsibility.
On another front, the Penguins actually won a game in regulation. No OT or shootout.

What's strange is that Dubois just bought a brand new house this summer in Columbus , and signed that 2 year contract.
So something happened in the OFF season , we'll probably know later what went on......
The players all hate the challenge review of offsides to disallow goals and there is a growing call to do away with it.
I don't like it either. It involves checking back to much earlier in the play, before the goal was scored, to check the video to see if the ref missed an offsides call because a part of one player's skate was an inch over the line before the puck crossed.
In every instance I've ever seen or heard about, where the goal was disallowed, the tiny amount the player was offsides had absolutely zero affect on the play and didn't contribute to the puck going in the net.
It's just a waste of time and it's incredibly frustrating to the players who have to endure the totally arbitrariness of wiping away of the all their hard work in scoring a goal.

Almost as bad as the 'tip-toe of a skate in the blue crease' rule that disallowed so many goals back in the 90s/00s. Even when it was on the opposite side of the crease and had no effect on the goaltender's ability to defend.
But the biggest hypocrisy of that rule was when they allowed Brett Hull's skate in the crease on the Cup-winning goal in '99. No problem then.
