had to dig through my Twitter feed.
.....Like....they overpassed like crazy...just, you know, shoot the darn puck?!
this is a familiar refrain in Philadelphialand.

It shall bring me perpetual joyAbout a minute later, the Bruins won on a 2-on-0. They didn't get all fancy with the passing; they just traded the puck once, then shot it.
Take a lesson, Pens. Too bad, too; their comeback was pretty good.
I had a weird thing happen last night while watching the Flyers/Devils game. (NHL Center Ice channel 773 on DirecTV.) Relatively late in the 3rd, the screen went black and I got a message saying something like I did not have that package at the time of broadcast. Which of course was inaccurate. Had it been a real nail-biter, I'd have been pretty disgusted.
Called DirecTV this morning about the issue. After some digging, the guy told me that somebody had mistakenly shut off the feed too early. He said a number of people had called to complain, so at least I wasn't the only one. Flyers finally got back into the win column with a 5-3 victory.
Rangers could be the worst team in Hockey right now. The forwards are all playing uninspired hockey, Jack Johnson is playing top minutes on defense, the goalies are letting in soft goals every game and the coach has his head up his own rear end and doesen't know what he's doing. If not for one good game against the Islanders this team would be winless.
I did......Did anyone actually have high hopes for the blue shirts this year? They’ve been in perpetual rebuild for the past 3 seasons.
I did......
Yeah, I liked the fact that Ghost wasn't afraid to shoot the friggin' puck. SOMEBODY needs to start putting it on net. Despite the rust, I thought he played better than most of the D-men.I liked what I saw in Ghost’s game last night and hopefully it’s something he can build off of. A couple of mistakes balanced out by some offensive aggressiveness and some bombs from the point. At one point both Provy and Ghost pinched down low on a scoring chance. I was like; do we have a new forward line?
I saw in my Twitter feed that Ghost had a 76% Expected Goals For percentage. I can’t confirm this at this point.
The Hagg/Braun pairing is turning into a liability. Would love to see some young guns get a chance; especially Zamula. At this
Point I’m wondering if Morin would be less of a liability than Braun or Hagg.
A win is a win but the Flyers play wasn’t pretty. They capitalized on some questionable officiating and some scramble plays around the net (like the Patrick goal). Way too many turnovers and again the pass first mentality is getting really irritating.
Streaky JVR is starting out hot and Flyers’ fandom is happy; which means it’s only a matter of time before JVR hits a cold streak and Flyers’ fandom turns on him.
Giroux was noticeable on the ice. High effort, High Intensity. He lead the way by example.
Also he becomes the longest tenured captain in Flyers history.

I also shook my head when I saw the defense pairings had Braun & Hagg together. I thought, "Well, maybe A.V. thinks by putting them together, he'll get most of the suckiness out there only 1/3 of the game or less".
I have to admit that I was thinking exactly what you said about JVR. "He's finally playing well again. It can't last, so let's enjoy it now!"![]()

I just realized the saddest thing about this season is "Who will throw the hats on to the ice for a hat trick."
