NHL Season 2021

Pens played a good solid 60 minutes and squeaked away with a 2-1 win.

Jarry looked better but I had to laugh when NBCSN showed every goal by the Islanders in this series was high glove side. That weakness was what got Matt Murray sent out of town, but his replacement isn't much different in that regard.

Mike Matheson had two of the worst periods of his career. Giveaways, bad passes, hanging on to the puck too long in his own end, indecisiveness...he looked terrible. Thankfully he made up for that with a very strong 3rd period, playing like an All-Star for the last 20 minutes.

On the other hand, Cody Ceci continues to impress us Pens fans. Many of us thought he was a cheaper version of Jack Johnson but Ceci has been worth every penny and then some of his $1.25M salary this year. Nothing stellar, but just solid as can be with some offense thrown in when needed. Hope he re-signs with Pittsburgh.

Hmm. Lemme think...A-HOLE! There should be a special consideration for him-and Caps # 43: Go home! Do not pass GO, do not collect a paycheck.
That is the main reason the Leafs got rid of him...he is a great player, gritty and tough. But him being suspended for 8 games in the playoffs over 2 years with the Leafs contributed to them losing both series...

I'm wondering when the "Player Safety Committee"(it is to laugh)is/are gonna do something about these clowns that are hurting the game, let alone other players.

Especially when the Player Safety Committee is manned by former players. You'd think they'd be more in tune with what it's actually like to receive one of these dirty hits and the potential for serious injury.

Well, George Parros is in charge of Players Safety Committee....fox in the hen house? Career stats...18 goals, 1092 PIM...
And before him wasn't it Colin Campbell? I remember him as a Penguin in the mid-70s. Not a goon but a tough little defenseman who never backed down from a fight.

Maybe we need a skilled player who never played physical in that office. Joe Juneau? :D
