Yes, same old Penguins. If NHL games were only 40 minutes long the Pens would have a couple more championship banners hanging from the rafters. These all-too-common third period comebacks by their opponents is beyond frustrating.

The leaf's game was fun last night. hopefully tonight's games will be as well.
Do any of you do fantasy hockey?
I did a mock draft, and then made a couple of teams. Other than that, and the app showing me replays and news about players on my teams, I really have no idea how it works.
It is crazy how much of an adrenaline rush I got just trying to get my pics in against the clock. Lol.

Malkin got a gift from his buddy Ovechkin and kicked off the scoring Friday night on a goal I could've made too.
Low and behold, the Pens play hockey for 60 minutes and they won.

Hmmm....Matthews is on track for 246 goals this year. And with that D and goaltending, they will need every one of them.
I stopped watching the Hawks game after they were down 3 - 0 in the 2nd period.
I was hoping that Bedard would elevate the rest of the team to his level, but it seems that the opposite is happening. Bedard looked like a clown out there when a Habs player skated right around him like he wasn't even there and they ended up scoring because of it.
The Hawks looked pathetic tonight - especially the defense. They allowed three breakaways on three consecutive power plays within ten minutes of play time.

Yeah, buddy, I think we've got this figured out. You banged on Malkin...next game he gets four points. I banged on Jarry...next game he gets a shutout. Guaranteed win after every loss if we throw darts at them.
Liked the come-from-behind win against Calgary on Saturday night, too. Another 60 minute effort, another win.

I believe that Bedard will step up over time to be the real thing and be the future of the Hawks for years to come. He's only 18 years old and feeling his way around the league. I certainly wouldn't expect him to be all that and a can of corn for a bit... but I believe he will be!

After the Phillies traded Ryne Sandberg (*and* Larry Bowa) to the Cubs for Ivan DeJesus (!!!) Sandberg went 0 for his first 20 and 1 for 31; it was not a good April for Ryne. Manager Dallas Green showed patience as he was confident there was going to be a payoff in the longer run. Seemed to work out. I think when all is said and done Bedard will have a bigger impact for the Hawks than Sandberg did for the Cubs. I can't even imagine the weight he's got to carry around but he sure seems like he's got a good work ethic and is doing everything he can - and let's face it, those aren't the '77 Canadiens out on the ice with him either. I like that he's shooting a LOT - those will start going in at some point (the speed on those wristers is amazing); I'm sure they are working on it but I want to see the faceoff wins pick up.
The young Flyers team outplayed the Oilers tonight. Carter Hart was very sharp again, but only had to face 22 shots (I think). Still gonna' be a long season for the Flyers, but I'm liking the hustle I'm seeing from some of these young guys. A whole bunch of them are 24 and under.
There was no quit in them tonight in Dallas. Dallas jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Flyers kept working hard and tied it at 2-2.
3-2 Dallas going into the 3rd. Dallas scored again to get their 2-goal lead back at 4-2. Flyers kept fighting and tied it up at 4-4 before losing in OT.
Carter Hart has been playing really well, but he didn't even make the trip to Dallas. Sam Ersson played in net and took the loss. His backup was Felix Sandstrom. They really impressed me with their grit and grind tonight, even with the OT loss. They scored THREE short-handed goals - two by Konecny. And two of the 3 were on the same 2-minute power play.
Yes, they lost, but the attitude seems different (for the better) this year. I hope they keep it up and can shake the loser mentality.
The Wings are off to a great start, hopefully the can keep it rolling against Calgary today. Even though they are probably tired and sore from the Senators game yesterday. The new players and old seem to be getting in sync and the power play has been rocking it.
