NHL Season 2023-24

Colorado gives up another one to Dallas

0/3 on the power play
Also a team that prides themselves on puck control, they've been extremely sloppy with the puck
On the second goal, Cogliano was 3 steps slow at the offensive blue line and ended up being behind Seguin. It was his guy, went in the net
Georgiav gave up 2, but he wasn't the reason they lost
As has been said B4, "yer goalie should be yer best defender. Not yer only one".

Having watched the replay of that I see that Marchand tried to hit Bennet after he dumped the puck. It would appear that he failed.

Seems so.

Probably because Bennett went headhunting. The reverse angle shows it cleanly.

The hit looked fine in real-time, so I don't particularly blame the refs, but that's what replays are for. Bennett did the same thing last year to Knies, so I'd say he probably deserves a tune-up tonight.

I'll put it this way: if the positions had been reversed, and Marchand did the exact same thing Bennett did, lots of people would be clamoring for the Rat's head. And the League might well suspend him.

Fact. Talked to someone earlier who brought up some #63 actions and how deplorable

I brought up some of the chicken :poop: maneuvers I've seen from the other color jerseys as well. People seem to think these things are in a vacuum….

Florida wants it more than Boston does. Just like last year.

Yes, the officiating blows. Yes, that Bennett goal should have been disallowed. Yes, Bennett had a dirty hit on Marchand in the last game. Sure.

But when the rubber is meeting the road, the Bruins are managing fewer than 20 shots a game over these last three, and there've been several periods where they can't even muster five SoG. That's why they're probably going to lose this series.

Right. If 'our'(whoever)guy hits 'your'(whoever)guy, that's OK. But if 'your'(whoever)guy hits 'our'(whoever)guy, it's not OK.o_O:eyebrow:
As someone once said, "Everyone's equal. It's just that some are more equal."

Bruins coming up empty on at least 3 clean breakaways (before I stopped watching) doesn't help. You can win with low shot count IF you take advantage of the golden opportunities AND you get great goaltending. The Bruins have the latter, but failing on the former. Panthers in 5 and moving on.

Game 4 is hard to win. Both teams know this well. In spite of the shot differential, I thought the B's were in decent shape in Game 4 until a questionable Interference penalty and a questionable ruling on goaltender interference.

I hope we see more shots by the B's tonight. The league has made it clear that incidental contact in the crease after a rebound is A-OK, so I expect to see some epic pileups around goal.

I wouldn't call it epic, but it was ironic.

Yeah, just another wrong prediction in a long string of them in this thread.

Different type of goaltender interference, same result of the goal stands. Hard to argue that Bobrosky couldn't reset when the puck flew between his trapper and his ear. Good to see the NHL HQ back away from going full FIFA or IOC.

Kudos to the refs (or whoever briefed them pregame) for the embellishment call on the soft crosscheck in the 1st period and for not buying Bobrosky's dropping his stick on the disputed goal (which was from his own defender but old habits die hard.)

Panthers are shamelessly using all the tools in their rat bag,. I kinda respect that, but it throws them off their game when it doesn't work.

Bruins seemed to get the message about shooting the puck - better late than never.

These teams are pretty evenly matched. Two of their 4 regular season games went to OT and the other 2 were decided by 1 or 2 goals.

To be safe, I got no predictions.
