Haven't played a lot of new necks, honestly.
But I remember the first Tobias I picked up and it was abolutely an O... M... F.... G.... experience.

Hands down my Mike Lull M5V's neck. It's amazing. A close second for the Dingwall Afterburner 1 five string though - absolutely killer neck.

Got to go with Fullrangebass and Netmundo on this one. Although I only played my Dingwall Afterburner 1 a few days, it's definitely the easiest neck to play (even better than my Lakland 4-94!)

The '62 RI Jazz neck on my FrankenFender Dark Star P bass is the most comfy neck I've ever held. It's even slightly better than my Sadowskys, though my NYC PJ is a close second. The PJ has better action so the feel is slightly better over all, but the well-worn neck on the DSP is perfectly broken in.

Also, the frets have been rounded over on the sides. It plays smooth as silk.

The feel of the neck is one of the most important aspects of finding a bass that I really like. For me, that means a pretty thin, fast feel.

Currently my favorites are my Carvin B4 and my new Stambaugh which both have tung oiled necks and play as smooth as anything I've tried.

The neck on the Lakland 4-94 Deluxe that I just sold to another TB'er has the nicest neck I've ever played, and, in my humble opinion, that's saying a lot.

It's slim and silky smooth, so all movement is insanely easy on it. But I guess if you prefer big, chunky necks, then it's not for you...
