It takes a while to dial in a useable sound with that ridiculous MOOG preamp, but there are a couple good sounds in there.

the one im getting has the moog removed. i actually wanted the standard not the artist but finding one is tough.

I removed mine too. Still have it in a shoebox somewhere in case I ever want to put it back in.

I'm not a preamp / active bass guy buy any stretch, but that preamp was particularly annoying. Good effing riddance as far as I'm concerned.

You'll find the pickups a tad weak (without the pre). They are a standard guitar humbucker size, so any guitar-sized humbucker will fit in there.

Rio Grande Pickups makes a pitbull bass pickup that will fit in there, and fellow TB'er SGD Lutherie also makes a HB size that will fit in there.

I don't wanna derail the thread, so shoot me a PM if you have any other Moog-less RD questions.

the verellen is a guitar head (a coop), they have guitar and bass heads on both sides.

Yeah, that Epi Ripper was 100% stock. I sold it about a year ago, stupidly. It sounded great, but most of the sound you're hearing on that video I attribute to this:
