No, Fender. Stop it.

One of my more fun experiences returning an album was Pink Floyd's "Ummagumma". That's a 2 LP set, one LP live and one studio. I got a copy with both LPs the same, but the second LP had the correct label for the studio LP. Since the number of tracks on each LP were different, it was obvious by looking at them that the two LPs were identical but the the salesman wouldn't take my word for it. He had to play it for about ten minutes needle dropping through the long jams before he was willing to agree that both LPs were the same!!!!

A decade later I had the exact same problem with a James Brown live set, both LPs were the same. The store owner opened another copy to see if it was OK and sure enough her entire shipment from the label was incorrectly pressed.

My copy of Love's "Da Capo" is marked mono on the cover but came with a stereo LP inside.
The craziest error I’ve ever seen was Rush’s 2112 was correctly labeled on one side, and on the other side had a label for Bachman Turner Overdrive. The vinyl was correct, just the label was wrong.

You are correct, sir, on tube preamps!

It's solid state from the mid-70s Pioneer SX-535 | Classic Receivers

The SX34 is a nice looking piece.
Before my, ahem, tube addiction, I had (and still have on a shelf) a Sansui AU-666 with a TU888 tuner. As much as I don’t run anything solid state these days (except computers, sound cards, pedals, etc…), the Japanese SS offerings from the 70´s were (IMHO) a lot better than the black plastic multi channel surround devices of today…

You are correct again! The build quality was outstanding. The inside of the SX535 is like a work of art, obviously hand assembled. Okay, I'm weird. I like to look at electronic guts.

I hear you on the "plastic" stuff. You have to get the Sony ES or Pioneer Elite series to get the better quality. I have an older Sony ES home theater receiver. Built like a tank, sounds great, never had a problem with it. I've been using it for about 15 yrs.

But it's..."a turntable that authoritatively and accurately plays any kind of music, including the timeless albums recorded by many of the all-time greats – Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen, David Gilmour, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Pete Townshend, George Harrison, Mark Knopfler, Keith Richards, Robbie Robertson, Steve Cropper, Joe Strummer, Bill Frisell, Waylon Jennings, Muddy Waters, Donald "Duck" Dunn, Sting, Carol Kaye, Pino Palladino, and George Porter Jr. for starters"

I like the tube stuff, too, and it's easy to work on. I scored a Pioneer SX-535 from a friend for free. His dad bought it new. Saw it sitting around and told him the SX receivers are desirable and have value. He said I could have it. I said again, the SX receivers are desirable and have value. He said take it. I said OKAY! Cleaned out the dust, squirted Deoxit in the controls. Looks almost brand new and sounds great!

I have a refurbished SX-525. Works like new, sounds great. So much craftsmanship in that humble Pioneer compared to modern stuff. 17W/ch RMS @ <1% distortion!

That's a nice looking turntable although I don't really dig the sunburst  but I really like the outside belt. I like mine better though and it was a LOT cheaper. It is an idler wheel turntable but there is absolutely no rumble, it's the quietest TT I've ever owned. The platter itself weighs over 8 lbs, it takes a full minute to stop when it shuts off. It's really cool to watch.
