No line out on amp

Hi, I have a Marshall Code 50 for when I use my guitar and there is no line out for me to plug into my audio interface, there is only a headphone out, phone in, and footswitch. Is there any way around this? Thanks.

Yeah but then it only plays out of the headphones and not the amp

I know that, but I want the direct sound and not have to spend anymore money.

Owners Manual for the current Code 50 shows a USB port below the input jack, which would only be on option if your audio interface is compatible with USB.

The speaker output shuts off when the headphone function is engaged. Makes it hard to play.

That’s how I read it too.
I have done this with a Roland cube 20x; 1/8” aux cable from the headphone out into a 1/4” adapter that you then run into the interface, it works as well as an XLR line out...unless your interface only takes USB, XLR, and/or MIDI.

I was thinking recording, and using headphones out of the interface.

I know you don't want to spend extra cash, but I'm sure you can find a used DI box on your local CL for relatively cheap. It'd solve your issue

Amp does not have a DI output.

A DI box is a separate unit from the amp. It takes the signal from your bass and passes it onto the amp and audio interface simultaneously. This would solve OPs dilemma (no output from the amp, but still keeping it in the signal chain for external monitoring while recording through the interface)

Headphone out works good enough, then you run phones out of your interface instead. That's how I used to record, before I got some equipment. Headphone out with a 1/4" to USB straight into my computer. Without an interface though, you cant hear yourself play. Duuude, I used to have to do like 10 takes or so before getting it good enough.
