No longer get email notifications

John, I see that you never got a response to your question.

I want to reply and say that I don't like the way the watched threads email notifications work. Every single time you get an email notification on a watched thread, you have to actually click through to that thread from the email to continue receiving the emails. If you don't, you won't receive any more until you visit the thread in your browser.

It's a serious problem, as well as being an annoyance. I have a number of ongoing threads that I started that used to be pretty active, but participation in them has plummeted because the members who watched those threads didn't keep clicking through to the threads.

I think if a member watches a thread, he/she should get an email notification of new posts at least once a day, like a summary. Then if they want to stop getting the notifications, they can unwatch the thread.

Talkbass should not be configured to discontinue the email notifications if the member doesn't click through and visit the page!

John, I hope that a Talkbass admin stops in to respond. Let's keep this thread going and see if that happens, or if other people post along these lines. I almost guarantee a lot of TB members would agree with us.

I'm sure the idea is to get TB members to see the advertising on the site, but it is completely redundant to send people emails of the exact same content that is posted, and then to require them to click through to the posts.
