No low end recording on Tascam US-122

I have been recording rehearsals for the past few weeks using a US-122 and two Audio Technica vocal mikes, and the low end is really missing. I have tried to move one of the mikes closer to my rig, but it did not help. I am thinking that it may be the mikes. Any suggestions? I tried XLR out from my Hartke 5000 to one channel and got nothing at all

Do you happen to know what the freq response is on those mics? If it's crappy, it could just be cutting off low harmonics. Also check to make sure you didn't somehow engage a high pass filter, stupid EQ, etc. I'm not really familiar with that Tascam, so I guess I couldn't tell you.

It's probably not the mikes but where they are placed.

Have someone else play bass and walk around the room and find where the balance sounds good and the bass sounds nice and fat. Put the mikes there.
