No serial number.What's that mean?

Back in Sept last year,I bought a bass off of Ebay.
A Wolf WTHB-7W
It was one of a series shown at the 2014 NAMM show.
It's a fine and dandy bass.It's got tone for days.
But it's got no serial number.Anywhere!

What does that indicate?Anyone know?

No serial number usual equals stolen but if you got it direct from a manufacturer, particularly for a tradeshow, it probably means it is a prototype or non-production bass.

It also doesn't have the serial number on it's headstock.look at the Ebay photos.Some one said they are regularly at the NAMM shows.The Ebay store in the link is not the Ebay store that I bought it from.But this one is selling the in quantity.

Are you sure these basses are serialized? I mean the ad does say it is a "Kent Smith" killer and it is loaded with poor English. It really looks like this is an Asian manufacturer who may have displayed at NAMM but this model is the "NAMM special" from what I can gather. I may be wrong, however.

And the Ebay site is made and maintained by an All In One Guitar out of California.
Yes KHL.Co is in South Korea.They sell these Wolf brand basses"unbranded"to other Corps to sell as their own.

Now I would expect the KHL.Co site to be loaded with poor English.,but the bad English here is All American.Not Korean.

Cheap? As in bad quality?No.
Anyway.I sent All In One Guitar an Email message asking them why Wolf basses don't have a serial number.

Now bear in mind that I didn't buy my bass from them last year.
I bought mine from OC Guitar's Ebay store.
But still,they SHOULD have some info why.

Why is it important for makers to put one on?

I would expect serious bass builders to put serial numbers on their basses, but maybe not for builders cranking out basses to sell to other brands. Why would they? It's not even going to have their name on it. Do you think Samick puts their own serial numbers on basses sold as Epiphone, Squier and Washburn? Same for Cort with the instruments they produce for Ibanez, Squier and G&L.
