Your answer is anecdotal, not objective.I’m sure that I have been to a state or two where they do, in fact, broom with a broom.
Yes. It was only after did Kennedy/Krushchev work to keep us from getting to that point again.
Growing up in that time we had regular air raid/nuclear blast drills, a lot of us had bomb shelters in our houses.
Back then the Cold War was actually fairly warm. We were constantly testing each other at that time and a war could hav broke fairly easy had it not been for rational minds at the helm.
That may be a combination of two different events, but they're both worth noting:I believe a Russian Admiral (Submarine?) Conscious broke orders to not launch missiles at some point

If kinetic energy is converted into thermal energy, how many times would I need to slap a chicken to cook it?
Yes, assuming you could slap a person's belly with reasonable Force 3700 times at once you could cook a person's insideSo, by the same token, is it possible to cook a persons guts by giving them a vigorous "pink belly"?

It is too awkward when you run someone else's chin. Why do we rub our chin when we think?
The detente of the Cold War was MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction) meaning if you launch, I launch. I doubt if Kennedy would have destroyed Cuba to destroy the missiles, but I do think that Khrushchev would not have hesitated to destroy Miami or Washington DC, plunging the USA into panic, chaos and confusion. Just the presence of the missiles 90 miles from the USA would have been a knife at our throat and a huge bargaining chip for the USSR. It would have changed the balance of power in the Western Hemisphere, and Cuba would not have been the only site for Russian missiles.Yes. The solution to the Cuban Missile Crisis was to not let the missiles enter Cuba by sea. They could not be launched from ships, only from the missile launch sites that the USSR had built In Cuba. Khrushchev blinked, the ships turned around from the blockade, and the crisis was averted.
At the time, my uncle was a Major General, USAF. He was a rocket propulsion system expert who was also working on the Mercury Redstone program that would put our first astronauts into space. He was also Werner von Braun’s boss. He was locked into meetings with the Joint Chiefs of Staff and would have been sequestered in a bunker had things gone terribly wrong. He called my aunt and said, “If I call you and say this code word, you will Immediately put yourself and the kids in the car and drive as far and as fast away from DC as you possibly can”. Things were very tense and the Armed Forces were on high alert. The news coverage was constant as there were only three TV networks at the time. Thank God the crisis was averted.
I can name that tune in three notes. You are 10 feet from a wall and moving closer to it. If each movement toward the wall is 1/2 the distance of the preceding movement, how long will it take to arrive at the wall?
