Noble Amps Preamp

I’m sure I’m not unique in this regard, but after playing with the Noble for a while, I realized this is all I need.
My board looks very similar.

Question about running pedals from the power source of the Noble. I'm using 110, so I'm limited to 700mA. Not a problem, but I'm wondering about the six plugins. I want to try a board that I would need to power seven pedals from the Noble. Total mA would only be 602mA. Can I just run a splitter on one of the power outputs to give my seven 9V power cables to plug in? Or would that mess things up?

I don’t see why you couldn’t split one outlet to run an extra 9v pedal. Besides the mA limitation the big restriction is the outlets aren’t isolated so you can’t combine them to get higher voltages.

Just spent the weekend with a noble ( not my first time with one) and I’ve gotta say,
It’s always an extreme pleasure to play through this thing!
I really have to say that a passive p through this piece is spectacular!
Throw in my Cali 76 and it’s over.
I’ve owned tons of nice stuff
This is the shizz!
yeah man, the constants on my pedal board is the Cali76 and the Noble, its a very nice combination for sure!

My Noble arrives in September/October. Can you compare it to your Oracle experience?

Just spent a week at the JEN convention in New Orleans. Two DB performances, one with orchestra and one with a smaller group with Vincent Herring. I brought my tiny pedalboard with the Noble and running it into the FX returns made the provided Markbass backline much better than plugging into the front would have been. Love this thing!

Well,
I’m not very good at this but if I had to choose 1 for everything ( different gigs and different basses) it would be the oracle.
I like the gain on tap and the range and mid switch are great as well.
I do like a good take on a b15

But for plug and play and outstanding tube platform preamp the noble is it!
As far as a setting for me,
I know it’s boost only but I put bass/treble at noon to help push the pre a little and create a nice slight scoop. Then volume a little above unity
No low cut
Nice non aggressive comp setting on Cali 76, passive p bass with nordstrand np5fA and tone 1/3 of the way up and it was magical!!

Oracle was always flat with mid switch engaged and range at 1 o’clock
Gain at around 1 as well.
Sometimes I’d hit the low switch or hpf but that box is great!
I like the non aggressive but extremely effective eq options on this one.

Can’t we just keep them all!!

I will add this.
If I was in a situation where I was with the same band and all in ears it would be noble.
I just don’t see how you can make it sound bad!
That’s why FOH guys everywhere are loving it.
Don’t know why I’m typing this as all of you know all this but
My use over the weekend was with my iem rig and the”wide” analogy comes into play here.
All my in ears sounded fantastic with it!

I’ve had a Noble on my board for many years and consider it essential to my tone for gigs and studio. I recently added a Future Impact bass synth and primarily use a minimoog patch. I tend to boost the bass on the Noble and leave the HPF engaged for any gig. Set and forget. I’m finding that, at least for bass synth the Noble HPF is set too high (90Hz). Especially when I use the bass synth patch, which has a “punch zone”’of between 60-120 Hz. I’m thinking of buying a Broughton variable HPF and setting it at 60 Hz. I’d put it right before my Noble on my board. Your thoughts?

I feel the same way you do. I use an Fdeck HPF. As for the exact setting, depends on the room.
