Noble Amps Preamp

Agree. Its a staple in the studio but 150 is agressive for bass depending on the slope. Thats why one of my first moves will be to engage that high pass and then boost bass back in to see what happens frequency wise. Its honestly a pretty genius way to reset the lows to peak above the kick instead of only under it like on a sadowsky pre.
Did this in rehearsal recently. My initial impression of engaging the low cut was that my tone (colored w/ low-gain SolidGold FX Beta) seemed less deep and full BUT it absolutely slayed as you described. Sat right above the kick and I could viscerally "feel" myself in a way that I only did when I kicked in my Broughton HPF/LPF. The only thing is that I always had to find the "sweet spot" with the HPF each time to get that response. Amazingly, the Noble got me there real quick with a flick of a switch and crank of the bass EQ. Genius-

Here's a Christmas gift coming early!

So... Got a Solid Gold FX Beta a few weeks back.
Ran it solo through my Mesa D800. Didn't like it, it sounded good for what it is, but was just way too dark. Plus I didn't like that the Volume goes from 0-100 quickly... Been trying to sell, trade, anything, but no luck.
Ok, I'm publicly admitting ignorance ...
I have NO CLUE why I never tried it through the Noble to begin with. Did it today... the Noble is just some sort of spectacular magic box beyond what we all know and love.
It seemed to tame the darkness of the Beta. It had my fEARful 12/6 oozing warm gritty wonderfulness.
I still don't like the wonky Volume knob, but I think I can deal, for now.
I'm still wanting to try a Darkglass VMT, or a South Hampton 5th gear.
But regardless, moral of the story. NOBLE ROCKS!! Thank you Jack! I just may sell my D800.

I got a beta and it's alright but I never touch it. Then I got a Azure Drive and compared to a BJFE BBOD it sounded really good and much better than the Beta.

I bet a good boost could also really be fun with the Noble.

Maybe some of you guys with Nobles can let us know if you have and how did it work out.

This makes me want to try BBBOD even more... and although not a boost, I've been cranking up the Output of my MXRbass comp.. it gives a nice extra push and punch.

Question for Noble power amplifier users.....what cabs are you using with these?

I have the pre/di paired with a bergantino ip cab. Looking at getting the power amplifier and a new cab setup. I want something voiced close to what I've got. Could go with another bergantino cab. Been looking at the fearless f212 but not sure if this is what I'm looking for. Jack mentioned techamp. Any thoughts?

I've run mine through a Fearless F210, and a fEARful 12/6. With either a Carvin DCM1000L, or Crest Prolite 2.0. Sometimes straight into my Mesa D800, which I'm probably gonna sell because the Noble just works.

All scenarios are just phenomenal!!

Not sure what you're after, but rest assured, with a Fearless, what you put in is what you get out. The Noble is just an extra layer of icing on the cake.
I'm using these setups for a country rock band, and for church. The Noble is just perfectly magical.
As for the Fearless, you may not need an F212... these cabs get crazy loud, easily. My F210 can get as loud as a good 410 without blinking.

I've run my Noble thru my Genz Benz Streamliner 900 power amp into my Barefaced One10 and AudioKinesis TC115 v1 with very good results. Still need to try it thru my pair of Acme B2s.

@Dave Hill has an F212 over in Dacula. It's hands down the best sounding cabinet I've ever had experience with. His uncle has an F112 and swears it just kills his Berg410. I have in person witnessed his F212 go above and beyond my Ampeg 810

Order your power amp and come on by and hook it up!

Thank you for the replies.
I love the cab I have but it's heavy (100lbs) and awkward to move. I want to get one of these which means I won't need the powered cab any more. Even if the weight equates the same with the added weight of the head...the cab/head combo should be easier to move. I don't move my cab much now but when I do it sucks. I'm reluctant to transport it due to its suckyness.

I run the Noble thru my Genzler MG 800 into two Baer ML-112 cabs... awesome combination.

:woot:  I wish I could justify one of those! My needs are modular, ease of transport, light weight AND high quality.

Why is this head so big? Looks?
It's a micro class D, no?
I'd seriously consider a rack mount version
