Noble Amps Preamp

Somewhat delayed, but do you find the OmniCabSim and then the Noble to be a good combo? Without the FX Loop, I always wondered about pairing these two, cab first then preamp second.
Is anyone using a Noble pre in a modern rock/hard rock setting? Most of the demos I’ve seen are of the pop/soul/country variety. I’m sure it could be made to work in any genre, but if anyone is playing rock or metal with one, I’d love to hear about your experience. Thanks!
I play loud noise/space rock with my Noble. I use a bottom heavy sound that might not be what most folks think of for loud rock music, but I have a Carcosa fuzz if I need it.
I love my Noble and I find that it minimizes the difference in a lot of amps/stages/situations. I'm always comfortable. I've been running it into the front of my Rumble 500 for gigs because it is easier to carry than my fancier stuff and the Noble makes all the tone I need.

Phil! My F Bass brother! I use it for a bit of everything. Haven’t used it for anything too hard or metal, but I can’t see it disappointing in any setting I could possibly put it in. A+ so far.

For that I reccomend a Verrelen meatsmoke tube pre. It has better eq and tube distortion on hand
If you like a clean tone it will sound fantastic in any genre.
The Noble is clean, but does well with a distortion pedal in front of it. I run a Hooker’s Green Bassmachine in front of the Noble and it gives me a nice overdriven tone. Not wild fuzz or dirt, just a nice overdriven hot tube tone.
This is probably what I was looking for. I'm not a dirty bass guy, I like clean. Even though I make my living playing rock, I still prefer a very clean bass tone. I can alway s add dirt as needed. Thanks!

As long as you've got enough cab and wattage to push the volume and headroom you need it will sound fantastic. As others mentioned it takes pedals very well too.
I can go crazy with dirt and fuzz if I want. The H9 gets it all done.

Sorry for the delay! Yes, the OCSD and Noble are an excellent combo. I dial in my basic sound on the Noble, and then I can tweak it on the OCSD. I also will occasionally use a 2nd OCSD, preset for specific songs. But if there is only one pedal, other than a tuner, it is the Noble.
Nano+
I used a Nano prior to adding the Vintage Microtubes. The Nano+ is the biggest board I'll use. I like 'em small. A pedal has to be da** good to get on my board.
Are you using the Noble as power supply for the others or do you have separate power supply?
I use the Noble power for the three other pedals. I've also powered additional pedals plugged into Noble's 9v adapters but not physically "on" my board. Want to try something quick? Plug it into the Noble. Noble on a smaller-to-mid-sized pedal board is all you need for most power requirements.

Well, my lack of impulse control has struck again...I should have a Noble on Saturday. Enough time to get it setup on the board, dialed in with my other pedals, and ready for NYE. I wasn't going to record this gig, but I might hafto now...
