No pics, because they are buried in storage, but I have two Fender Bassman 100's. One has been modded into a channel switching guitar amp, but I used the other for bass for a couple years.
I got that one from a prison in WI. The prison had been scavenging parts to keep other Fenders working, so it was basically the cabinet, chassis, a few parts, the mostly empty circuit board, sockets and the transformers.
I rebuilt it, using 6550's, with individual bias controls (and an auxiliary filament transformer), wired the bass channel to a B15 circuit with volume and baxandall bass and treble, and the normal channel to a London Power bass preamp. Basically a Fender channel, but with sensitivity/gain control, bass, mid, mid slope, and treble, tuned down an octave.
I also added a resonance control. Although the 6550's do not produce higher wattage, due to the voltage the amp provides, they have more punch and higher headroom. I also quadrupled the B+ capacitance, which also adds to the headroom. The 6550's changed the ideal speaker load from 4 ohms to 8 ohms, although I used 4 on gigs.
It was a fine gigging amp. I will have to give it a try again, but I am enjoying my PF-500 and am not sure I want to use a heavier amp.
I don't bring it for quick on, quick off festival gigs, but if we're playing a few sets, I bask in the KT88 glow.
