I love those Guilds, I've played both fretted/fretless B-301/302s. I have a mahogany Guild S-60-D guitar with the exact same shape, and when I played a show with Rhys Chatham's 100 guitar orchestra the musical director had the fancy ash/ebony S-300. I also had a Guild Pilot, which could be considered a classic pointy '80s bass.

Upcoming build will be my own take of an x 702
X 79 body with a short scale neck.

Here's the last bass John Entwistle designed, Status Buzzard II. "One for the punters" as he said. Thunderbird meets Precision with modern electronics. 1-3/4" nut,2-1/8" bridge spacing, CF/phenolic bolt on neck.

My only non-classic classic... Guild Starfire. Pickups were re-wound at Seymour Duncan circa 1980 by Seymour (there had been a big delay, so he sent me a letter with the pups stating he personally did the windings.)

That’s kind of the vibe I was after with my Dingwall and changing the pickgaurd. It’s modern but has somewhat of a classic vibe imo. Kind of like a New Dodge Challenger compared to a classic one. Here’s the before and after of the gaurd swap. View attachment 3920581

Woah, woah.. am I seeing that right? Is there a routing for a 3rd pickup position on that thing?(closer to the neck?) or was it custom? what's goin on there?

My main bass is a Roscoe, and I can’t describe how much I love it.. as I’ve gotten older I’ve grown more towards appreciating classic luxe, hence this thread, so the only unabashedly unquenchable GAS I have is for a Roscoe classic PJ.

Yes, it is mine. Found it on C. List about 3 yrs ago for $450. It probably has no less than 100 small dings front and back. But, that's OK. Still looks good enough and plays perfectly. It's quite rare 'cause it's Koa which was a custom order. Thank-you for your interest and I hope ya find another one.
