I´m not saying that he HAS to play like I play. Is just that after saw him live, I realized that he only have IMPRESSIVE SOUND, nothing else.
Like 3 weeks ago I saw BILLY SHEEHAN in a clinic here in Caracas, man, he really play the bass, not only sounds big, and is a great guy.....

Ok, my intention wasn´t start a thread to diss fieldy, I just wanted to give my impressions on the show I went to, because after that I understood the reasons why everybody says that HE sucks........

I will say this. His (Fieldy's) sound is impressive. He has some kinda sub-sonic thing goin' on. His tone is quite unique. I used to think Fieldy was a great bass player when I was just learning bass back in 94'. However, one day, I bought a bass book for their self-titled album, and realized how easy the lines were. It wasn't later until I realized that it wasn't his playing that I liked, it was his sound. :p

Whenever I see one of these threads I always wonder if all the Fieldy threads could be the work of one psycho Fieldy stalker.

Korn Bassist Fieldy abducted by crazed talkbass member and forced to turn up mids.

Hmmm... I didn't read anything horrible about Fieldy on this thread..

And a lot of you are right.. I was pretty impressed when I first started playing myself. Now, not so impressed, but I still listen to Korn. They have a unique sound (and Fieldy is a big part of that), not to mention INTENSE lyrics. They're big time, so obviously Korn is appealing to the masses.

hahaa, but appalling to the masses at TalkBass... let Korn do their thing. If ya don't like it: don't listen to it, don't talk about it, don't know Fieldy by name. :)

Agreed. I wasn't tryin' to make this thread all wild, I was just giving my opinion. By the way, I downloaded the new Korn song "Here To Stay": it's really heavy as hell, and honest to god, I didn't hear Fieldy's characteristic playing and sound in it whatsoever. What the hell happened? :confused:
