Since tomorrow is Canada Day (and I won't be on TB) I thought I would give this thread a bump. Spread some Canuck love.
My wife and I are booking a trip to Toronto with my parents today, we're going in August. They've never been there before. Looking forward to it!
That sounds awesome. I have only been as far west as Winterpeg. I hope to head out an see the CN Tower one day.
I knew about the Colonel. The first KFC in Canada was opened here in Saskatoon. My dad went to school with one of the owner's kids and he said you would see the Colonel on a regular basis, even dropping by their high school. I was shocked a few years ago when I drove through SLC and saw a big sign that said "home of the first KFC." I always assumed it was from Kentucky.
Here's an obscure Canadian band that while critically acclaimed, never took off on either side of the border:
I remember Stompin' Tom Conners well...and fondly.
The station I worked at leaned distinctly toward old, Hard Country music.
I always liked him...sounded kinda Dusty Outlaw to me.

Down here in Australia, we know The Tragically Hip, I grew up listening to Triumph and I saw the Watchmen at a suburban Pub in Sydney one time (must be close to 20 years ago). Probably the most famous Canadians here are The Tea Party. I heard somewhere they are not well know outside Australia?
