NPD: COG Effects T-16 analog 1590a octave

Hey guys-

Check out what the postman brought me today!?!??

The new COG Effects T-16 analog octave. I have the t-65 and this little octave is the heart and soul of that pedal (more minus a couple of super cool features like a gritty octave up and a parallel effects loop but hell the t-65 is a 1590bb and this is a 1590a).

This little octave sounds freaking amazing. Perfect tracking to an open E with not even a little warble if you turn the filter all the way up.

And the filter is the real genius here - low down - gritty gritty gritty octave; 11am to 2pm - classic analog octave sounds like the oc-2 (but with better tracking); all the way up - it filters everything over 100hz and leaves you with the smoothest analog octave sound I have ever heard.

Tom freaking killed it here. @TG Flatline you are the king.

Tom does everything direct.

Got to play with it more last night and it blew me away even more. It is now my go to octave and I have some great ones. I had never used the filter settings as high as I had it yesterday, and I may leave it that high. On both the T-65 and the t-16.

INTERESTING!
Looks like what I have been hoping for!
...but REALLY quite expensive. No?
Is it based on anything or is it an original design-apart, obviously from the T-65?
It really does the open E properly?(and on a passive bass?)

..are there any decent demos of just this pedal out there yet?
And importantly...with less of that nervous playing and some sustained notes so one can hear how it decays?

DUDE, you are in Europe right? It's expensive for ME and my ever more useless Canadian dollar! :(

Fair point, but octaves are not all that involved.
So what you get here is quite an expensive-but small octave down.
The size is nice but it is not everything.
What interests me is whether this ,merely seen as an octave pedal and the size aside, is as good or better than others, and how it really compares in terms of price.
Whilst all this does not mean that I don't want it, I may bridge the gap , until I do get it with this;

It's probably the best tracking analogue octave you'll find. At least thw T-65 I had was. So, if you like the glitchyness get an OC-2.

COG effects live up to the hype. Simple as that.
