I used my V1 in the studio this weekend recording my new band's EP. Rick 4003 - VMTD - OCS. However, the DI went out on me during rehearsal the day prior to the studio, so I ran 1/4" out to a Radical DI.

I had one unit which had an xlr pin sunken (by pushing it hard with the plug at the wrong position) easy fix, just push the pin back to the right position.. If the pins are ok, i will gladly repair it.I haven't had a chance to look at it closely, but will definitely check the pins. Just odd that it quit working.
Well I have finally had a chance to play my OCS deluxe through my cabs at home and I gotta say... It is a very transparent, versatile tone shaping tool. I haven't got into the DI or headphone outs etc just yet - but in the signal chain... It sounds very good.
One thing I was a bit surprised by however is how "up front" and open the character of this pedal is. It's fairly transparent... But seems to unveil the cab by boosting frequencies in the right places as per the setting. Some very nice sounds in there for sure. Unfortunately for me... I find it's difficult to do the opposite equally well- darkening my cabs musically and efficiently to sound more vintage. To my ear, this pedal doesn't "cut" quite as well as it "boosts" from an EQ perspective if that makes any sense? I admit that my initial expectations were (expecting vintage tones) simply out of line with what it actually does well (more aggressive/modern tones) and even though I bought this to tame overly modern cabs - it just so happens to sound really good through pretty much everything!
This is a great pedal in many ways and I haven't really dug into the full potential yet so please consider my comments as initial thoughts! Thanks again DSM for the cool pedal. I'll be playing with this one some more and keep you all posted my my thoughts.

I finally got to test out my new OCS Deluxe!
This unit is absolutely incredible!
I can NEVER see myself playing without it again!
It is that good folks!
My advice - buy one FAST!!!
You will never want to play without it again! Trust me!
Daniel is a BASS WIZARD!![]()
As a 100% DI guy, I couldn't agree more. I'm even contemplating the idea of getting a spare oneI finally got to test out my new OCS Deluxe!

I'm curious how many are running the effected 1/4 out to a power amp. If so good predictable results? Or weird combination due to redundant "cabs".
My OCSDeluxe is last on my board, DI to FOH. I'm running an Ampeg Portaflex500 and Carvin 4x10 ported cab with tweeter. I'm going straight to the classD power amp via series FX return. B7Kultra preamp and Broughton L/HPF ahead of OCSD.
I don't have the option to do full volume testing, i mostly use the headphone out for tone tweaking. I just want a sense of what I'm getting into in live settings if i run the effected out vs. Non-affected thru.
Any input would be appreciated. I guess i feel that straight into classD power amp is very flat and linear, no real tube or vintage mojo. And the Carvin 4x10 is more of the same.
This to me is ideal as ALL of my "tone" is coming from my board and not my amp. Making IEM or shared generic back lines extremely easy.
And a sincere THANK YOU to the builder, absolutely brilliant unit.
I run the effected 1/4 into the amp's input, running into a Barefaced Big Twin II with the tweeter fully open. Amp is set as flat as I could (so the result is quite similar to running directly into a flat-response power amp I guess?), but with the possibility of tweaking to eliminate problematic frequencies (semi-parametric EQ).I'm curious how many are running the effected 1/4 out to a power amp. If so good predictable results? Or weird combination due to redundant "cabs".
