NPD DSM Noisemaker OmniCabSim

Hi everybody
I managed to get a used OCSD unit in mint conditions at a very good price from a gentleman here on TB
I am very satsfied with the sound but I have a small problem
When using headphones with an external source plugged in the aux input, the volume of my bass drops dramatically
When I press stop on the external source, the volume of the bass jumps out again
Is this normal?

OCSD powered by One Spot 9V.
Passive bass into EBS Bass Comp, into Aguilar Tone Hammer Preamp, into OCSD.
Headphone out of Android Tablet into OCSD aux input.

It seems like OCSD headphone amp's resources are "shared" between the bass and the aux input, so that when the aux is missing, all the resources are used by the bass alone

Sorry for the late replies guys, somehow i was not getting notifications for this thread..

Now that all preorders are shipped and folks are starting to get theirs, i'm back full time to get the Drive maker to the market and also offering a holiday discount for the OCSD, i also have a "COMBO" (OCSD + DM) on $399 ..great deal IMHO!! Check www.dsmnoisemaker.com for the holiday offers..

About the demos, i made a basic bass demo of the DM prototype:

Once i get the production units, of course i will talk with mr excane, just bass it, and others, to make demos of it..

The headphone amp shares the input between aux and the signal from the pedal.. It is normal that some low impedance sources into the aux will lower the bass signal (since it will share current). Try with other sources like the headphones out of your cell phone. There's plenty of volume so you could lower the source volume and boost the gain a bit to keep them balanced..

Cheers!!

Thank you for clarifying how the headphone amp works.
I will try a different source.
Not because of the lack of volume, as you say there is plenty.
But because it is a bit annoying to me that, when I am studying a song and I stop the aux for example to retry a part, the bass volume jumps out at telluric volume.
I always need to lower the volume of the bass.
Not a big problem, just annoying.

There's always room for improving..i'll take a look at that if theres a future batch

Awesome! Let us know your impressions when you get it

Absolutely, super excited to add this to my newest board. I haven't had a complete board in a many months. Should be fun:

Woolly Mammoth clone
Johnk Au-Drive
H9 x 2 (awesome)
Prunes Custy
Snow White Bass Auto Wah
Broke Dick Peanut Gallery
DSM OCSD
OptiValve compressor
DDyna Thinman (super under-rated pedal)
Eventide Powerfactor to make it all happy

And an incoming Submarine Deluxe clone to top all this off!!
Can not wait to play around with all this goodness, the H9 Max and additional H9 control (or max really since one is a max)

Pics to follow, waiting on a Temple Pedalboard to get here as well .

I have never done any kind of 're-amping' and so I was wondering if I could do this with the OmniCabSim:

clean bass track (on computer) -> line out of audio interface -> input of OCS -> XLR out of OCS -> XLR input of audio interface -> onto new track - "cabinetified"!

Can it be done?
I can't see why it shouldn't work..
But i'd use the xlr out for "cabified " track, and the through out for a "clean" track..
