wow! serious growl !!!! love it!! any amount of high end fizz would have ruined that mix

yeah Hugo was my first rep! he and Conner green have their OCSD with serials like 4 or 5

I didn't see much discussion when I searched, but has there been much posting about running the OCS in the FX Loop of an amp then into full-range PA style cab (Barefaced/greenboy/AK)? I've seen people talking about running it direct into the FX Return, but not in the Loop, which I don't think should be much different, other than allowing the preamp coloration and EQ to come into play. I was just wondering if there was any notable difference in running the instrument level vs. line level.

Well, damn. I plugged my DSM into my DAW. It was time to see what this puppy could do. I tried my Ric 4003 > Dunwich Wizard > AO > DSM and tweaked the DSM settings as I changed up the dirt/fuzz levels. Color me impressed. The thing behaves like a cab. Well, it behaves like many cabs, actually.

I loved being able to send filthy fuzz into my DAW and get a tone that sounded... well, like fuzz into a cab, and not like a 28.8 modem trying to connect.

I love my Dunwich boxes, but they always gave me heartburn going DI into the DAW. I couldn't get sim sounds I liked out of Guitar Rig or Logic. Problem solved.

Now my only problem is my current health issues which limit my playing time.

Soon.

Useful pedal is useful.

that´s great! i have heard of people using Axe-fx but leaving the cabinet sim off and using the OCSD instead (i think that´s how Hugo Doyon does it, and a few of other local musicians.. they simply love the good tone and easy acceso for tweaking it has, especially live.

I find myself adjusting the pedal more than my EQ on my amp. It's a good tool for making changes, when you are aware of what the knobs are changing.

is just that when i launched it like 2 years ago, there were not many options for flexible cabsims..there was the torpedo,or the chamaleon..but no "tweakable" cabsims.. in theory, IR cabsims should be very accurate in frequency response..but from what i´ve heard from my customers, the OCSD has something that makes it "feel" better, more real than IR´s. Now some big manufacturers have taken the idea and produced somewhat flexible cabsims, and from the feedback i get, i think mine is the best..but i have never personally A/B the omni with the new ones.. although I have compared it to software and multifx cabsims, and i´m sure the OCSD is way more effective...

Imitation? Consider yourself flattered, and for good reasons. :thumbsup: My OCS v1 is so good that I haven't looked at any other options.

One exception: I have considered the Tech21 Q\Strip, which seems to be a useful tool: two bands of semipara EQ, 'nuff said. However it's a console sim and not a cab sim, and the HPF and LPF are fixed, so I would never think of it as a replacement for the OCS.

Another bonus to the OCS, is it's "hiss killing" ability. I have zero technical data as to why. I run a pre / power rig and without the OCS at the end of my chain, I get a wicked hiss. Ground lift(s) up/down/sideways, no matter the pedal arrangement, with/without FDeck, doesn't matter. Add the OCS....dead silent.

Probably the LPF nature of it. It is cutting off any frequencies high enough to generate the hiss (or already hissing), before they can pass through to your amp/PA/DAW.
