About your question, i think the great difference between the OCSD and all the other cabsims out there is the ability to tweak them on the fly and use your instinct and ears to find the tone that feels right..
I've seen the OCSD being set on all different positions, as it always depend on the characteristics of the tone source and the PA response, and of course, the personal taste of the user. There is no wrong setting..If you are getting too much fizz, turn down the high response..if you are getting too much low end rumble, reduce the cab size or the resonance, if you are missing low end thump, crank the resonance..if you want more modern, aggressive tone, lower the mids and crank the punch..for a more traditional response, reduce the punch and get back the mids, and so on...and this is only my take on it..other users have different approaches and have different ideas of what "x tone" is like..
