NPD: Electronic Audio Experiments Longsword

:DOK.....but I don't think I want one anymore.....but maybe next week.....:bassist:
You do. :)

Have been experimenting with using the Daggers without a blend with great success. I do lose a little of the dynamics, but I'm finding that that's ok with dirt. The Dagger still does an amazing job with the eq filling in the low end, so the sound is still very natural.

Here is a clip that I had promised.....it's my P bass (old Yamaha BB300 with a Nordstrand PowerBlade). First is just the bass, then I blend in a small amount of the Dagger. I blend more towards the Dagger until you just hear the Dagger with no clean sound at the end. This is straight into my computer.

Dude, this sounds awesome! Thank you!

I tried buying one today but it kept saying "out of stock"......and I started trying to buy at midnight (their time)....didn't know it was only from 2 pm and I had no way of getting to a pc then so when I finally made it to my pc they were sold out again. I'm kind of upset....wish they would start a waiting list for them.....
Sorry about that. Thanks for trying though, I do greatly appreciate it and the demand motivates us to make more! Quantities are limited - this batch of Longswords and Model feTs sold out in a little 20 minutes. I provide a specific time in email blasts in order to give everyone a fair shot. I don't personally believe in wait lists because I have an extremely busy day job—I simply cannot guarantee wait times for stuff that isn't already built, tested, and in my hands. I tried it with the Model feT when it first started, and the list became a real albatross around my neck pretty quickly.

Wooowww that dudes bass is straight bangin!!!! So awesome. I needs me a Longsword.
Zach's rig is PERFECT. That neck is nothing short of flawless and he has a great assortment of amps to play with it. His go to is an SVTII non pro, but he also regularly uses a YBA3 and a TS120B (such as in that video) with a pair of TL606 cabs.

Thanks John, I understand that a wait list would be awkward for you since you have more buyers than product. I never saw that the sale would start at 2 pm (my bad) so I tried buying it on the website at midnight like an idiot (lol) then emailed you and you replied with the 2 pm time but I had no way of getting to a pc at that time.....I'll try harder next time.....thanks....when's the next batch?????? drool:hyper:

what is the difference between the Longsword and the Dagger.....I know you mentioned something about it in a previous thread but.......I would prefer the Dagger as it is a smaller pedal....so it's got that going for it.....lol

The Dagger is a simplified Longsword. 2 band eq, no boost and no diode choices. If you're looking for a small form med/high gain drive the Dagger is it. Not sure how it'll do low gain. It depends on the diode he chooses.

Probably TOO SOON but can I call dibs on yours if you ever decide to sell? LOL for real though. Excited to hear what you think! Been wanting one for a long while.

You know it man! haha I kinda bit off more than I can chew monetarily atm (I bought a bass too :D) but I figured it's an easy sale if I had to. But I HAD to try this one. I've wanted one for a couple years now. It's one of those pedals that was never available when I had the money. But I have a feeling I'm going to love it. If that's the case, I will do everything I can to keep it. I'm a little nervous for my MBD but actually, I think I'm going to use the MBD as my low gain OD and the LS as a straight dist. But yes, I'll def post my findings here when I get it. And if I sell it, you'll be the first to know.

Reviving this zombie. Got a v4.5 in today, and initial impression is that I can get a lot of use out of this thing. Going to see how it fares in a band mix, but I really dig the quick couple of heavy-OD/light distortion sounds I dialed in right away. And the pre-gain boost is killer for getting into chunky territory without a stupid amount of volume boost. Excited to dive in more...

I got a 4.5 about two weeks and am loving it. It is THICK but still super clear and cuts through like, well, a sword. I think its sounds great paired with a low gain OD. By itself its sharp as nails, but when you run it into the OD it warms up and gets into fuzz territory.

Also, I'm all about pedals with two switches, especially drive pedals with a second gain stage. This really makes this a great pedal for improvised music where you want lots of options at your feet.

Bumping for some info for those EAE pedal owners. Has anyone of these pedals been favored for yall with low to medium gain in mind? I've got a favored high gain tone covered for my personal needs. For reference I run a pretty mid-scooped sound in general with a decently heavy pick attack and mainly play through passive pickups. I've been looking over EAE's offerings and want to try something out for a general purpose low-mid gain style grind that isn't too up front.
