NPD: Electronic Audio Experiments Longsword

Bumping for some info for those EAE pedal owners. Has anyone of these pedals been favored for yall with low to medium gain in mind? I've got a favored high gain tone covered for my personal needs. For reference I run a pretty mid-scooped sound in general with a decently heavy pick attack and mainly play through passive pickups. I've been looking over EAE's offerings and want to try something out for a general purpose low-mid gain style grind that isn't too up front.

the dagger is great for that. Atm, I’m using the v2 halberd which I adore. I also used the model fett for low gain, with great results.

The Dagger and Halberd v2 are the two I'm mainly going back and forth between right now. Any thing in particular you feel separates them apart for your application? Do you feel one excels more prominently in one area then the other? Thanks for the input!

honestly, they both excel perfectly at what they are. I run an older version longsword
before my v2 halberd. The dagger is certainly more natural/lighter/neutral sounding, while halberd is going to give more grind and anger.

Thanks for the reply! I'm definitely leaning Halberd. The Surveyor/Dude Incredible has peaked my interest too but I already live in the clank, but I'm also interested in its versatility.

Recently I got an Mastro Valvola OFF1 which I'm not really jelling with and debating sending it back and getting more EAE stuff in its place.

I currently have the Model FeT and Longsword on my board. The FeT is just there adding a little low gain girth, the Longsword brings all the gain.

I was interested in trying out the Citadel as a potential alternative for the FeT, I feel like the tone from the Citadel would be handy for guitar too. That being said there's an endless supply of good Plexi/JCM software modellers I could use for recording.

The other option is the Halberd which i think would be a great option, probably the one i will get the most out of. Almost tempted to replace the Longsword with a dagger too for space saving.

Would love a Dude Incredible or Surveyor but they're nowhere to be seen in the uk.

As much as I liked the idea of Fuzz, it's not really something that fits the current band, also as soon as i engage the OFF1 fuzz I instantly disappear in the mix.

In an ideal world I'd have every EAE pedal.

I haven't checked into the Discord lately, but I know he's working on a new digital platform for pedals that will end up being used for many ideas...delay, reverb, dirt etc...that may be it?

This is from the email Jon sent out today:

I didn't know he was working on a new digital platform, which is more good news. That might be what the last bit is referring to

For anyone using the Halberd v2 have you found it to be particularly noisy? I'm noticing way more noise than the longsword despite the Longsword having boost and everything fairly cranked.

Not particularly. I just tried them at higher gain settings and both seem about the same.

Btw, the Longsword goes about as hard as my other fuzzes

Yeah I take it back, I tried it again and it was fine, I suspect I'd accidentally knocked on another pedal that was the cause.

loving the Halberd into the Longsword into the Model FeT.
