NPD: SA Aftershock

Anyone tried the Rat algorithm? Curious if it could replace my Blower Box

I don't know anything about the Blowerbox. But obviously there's a gazillion Rat variants out there. The good news is the Aftershock has 3 different RAT engines to choose from, plus you can pair that with a cascade which would allow you to mix RAT engines, or put another EQ block before/after the RAT, push the RAT into an overdrive to soften it, another distortion to crisp the top end. Lots of potential options.

Fudge this looks great. Anyone know if it can do a really really tight, clear, distortion? Like an amptweaker tight metal. Think djent guitar tone.

I don't see why you can't get something similar from the Aftershock. Particularly if you use Cascade mode you can then leverage one of the gated engines to get the "tight" feel, and cascade that into whatever drive engine you want to finish with. Additionally there's a very good noise gate feature built in you can use with any of the engines (including the clean engine).

I can think of at least two djent bands that use Darkglass pedals for distortion on bass - TesseracT and Monuments. Considering that the Aftershock has 2 Darkglass-based models (and plenty of other models that could work) I think you're covered.

Two Darkglass-based models?

If I'm not mistaken, both of the "Smoked Glass" models on the Aftershock are based on Darkglass pedals (most likely the B3K and one other).

One is assigned to the middle position on the switch by default, and the other can be accessed from the Neuro app.

I have not looked at the app, I only saw John K.'s screenshots from the beginning of the thread (when there was one---only one---listed explicitly as Darkglass, not the mild obfuscation). I did not realize there were two. I assume B3K and VMT? The only other option would be the Duality, which doesn't seem like it would have the same following.
