So, I gigged my new Ictineo last night. I set it to the clean SVT settings and just left it on for our 100 minute set. I use a blended Volt Thrower into a GR2 for Chameleon and I used a Dunwich ODB set to medium gain for a Cream (sub) set (all into the Ictineo).

My amp was a Mesa D800 (on a 115/112 stack), with the lower end dialed back for room boom control... bass was a Fender P.

And Damn, that all sounded killer. It was a three band evening and several of the other musicians commented on how good my set up sounded... deep without sounding muddy, and full in the sense of the bass just wanted to make one get up and dance, but not overpowering the rest of the band (drums, guitar and Hammond B3/synth/piano).

Anyway TB is full of threads about "always on" pedals. I've never had one... until now.

So I finally got to bump mine a little over the weekend. I really like it. It brings exactly what my old JohnK sub brought to the table plus more. I dig. That boost, I just can't get over the power of that boost! It's so strong and really makes your signal sharp and clear. I think it's going to come in handy in the band mix. I really like the body control too, it has a cool way of controlling the mids I'm putting out. It's not too drastic but boy does it make a difference. Overall I think it's a winner. Time will tell for me, but I think Hamish nailed it. It really adds some special sauce to my signal.
