NPD Southampton Ictineo

Threw the Ic on my board for practice tonight, sat it right in front of my Meatsmoke Pre and dialed in the "SVT" settings and matched my tone to bypassed pretty closely. The things this pedal does to tone...it's so subtle but so effective and powerful... just a wonderful kiss of sweetness and finesse to the tone. My singer who knows nothing about bass crap stopped after a song and asked what I was doing different because my rig sounded more awesome than usual.

My rehearsal got cancelled tonight.. :-/

Hammond B3 player failed to show and the drummer bailed... but it did give me a chance to talk to the guitar player to discuss some new directions for the band. Of course, this belongs in another thread... but as a result, didn't get to try the Ictineo in a live setting.

Get your guitarist to try it. My guitarist swears its amazing on guitar as well

I second this wholeheartedly. Testing out these 25 pedals before shipping on guitar, it was unbelievable. Like the diamond comp. It's subtle, but three tone when you disengage sounds totally lifeless.

darn that "auto correct spelling".....lol.....nah, I like the name, it's mysterious.....all my jam buddies were looking at it last Saturday....mind you, they look at my board every Saturday, it's never the same....lol

Our practice didn't happen this week either @Matt Dean. Got all these new goodies and I didn't have practice haha. Although I do need to revamp so there's that.

I got to mess with the Ic last night some more. I'm really enjoying it. It does do a lot. But it's like @NoxNoctus said, it's not drastic at most settings but it adds that something special. I really like that boost. Wow.

I'll ask my buddy Ian who is a linguistics prof at the University of Toronto, I mean lets be honest, I struggle with English and most French, so Spanish won't be my thing either

Just reading the Wikipedia entry on the Ictineo. While it was indeed engineered and built by the Spanish, the name was from the ancient Greek icthus (fish) and naus (boat). Which leads me to lean more towards "ik-tin-ee-oh" than "iss-in-tow"

Yes. I checked with my friend who in a linguistic professional and speaks 6 languages. Your interpretation is correct?
